| Wow...I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight in the following or if it has nothing to do with LC-ing Today is my 14th day on induction, I am doing well, 12 pounds down, inches down, feeling great, cravings gone, energy etc. Then this morning I started getting really nauseous, and with in half an hour of that I was praying to the proceline god so to speak. I threw up a few more times and the last time it was pure bile ( sorry if TMI). dark yellow, bitter etc. My bm's are normal ( not pale) my urine is normal ( not dark). I am kind of thinking it may be my vitamins. I have thrown up from vitamins twice in the last 4 or 5 months or so, and stopped taking that multi. This is waht I had this morning: 2 eggs fried in olive oil and 1 sausage link ( same bf as I have had for the past year or so) 1 cup of tea with two drops of stevia glycerite and 1 teaspoon erythritol 1 T cream 1 capsule chromium, one cal and mag, 2 vitamin c, 1/2 T codliver oil and 1 T Vitamineral greens(powdered greens supplement) in a tiny bit of juice. The only thing I havent taken in a while is the vitamineral greens but have taken that before in much higher quantities without an issue. I am feeling okay now, haven't thrown up in about 2 hours, feeling a bit weak and shacky but that's it. What mostly worries me though is the bile thing. I have never thrown up bile before and I know bile has to do with the digestion of fats... So, anyone know anything about this? Thanks a bunch in advance

| Hi there! You might want to consult your Doctor if this continues even a little longer. The only thing I could come up with looking at your list of vitamins is that Vitamin D (in cod liver oil) if taken at high levels can cause nausea and vomiting. Vitamin D is also manufactured when you're exposed to the sun. I always discontinue my cod liver oil in Mid march at my latitiude. |

| Well, I am feeling better...but not great. And I have another questions; what do you eat LC when you are not feeling great? All I seem to want to eat is porridge, or applesauce, toast...KWIM?

| tanya-when i'm feeling ill, i eat whatever sounds the most do-able to me. low carb is always there for you and doesn't go away if you decide to eat a bit of toast. i know vitamins make me sick to my stomach if i haven't eaten, but i've never had any kind of reaction like that. however, i would suppose it's possible if you're sensitive to vitamins or something. but in general, no, i don't think it's a common "low carb" experience. if you don't get better very quickly, you would be well-advised to talk to your doc to see what the deal is. hope you're 100% soon! |

| Glad you;re feeling fine! Not the least bit annoying newbie! Like goddess said eat what sounds doable. I've eaten saltine crackers and chicken broth. there's about 2 net carbs per cracker so even if i ate 10 the carb count is only 20. But I have also eaten toast and tea. as far as the hair loss I have heard others mention this as a problem. But rarely. I've never seen a definitive answer. Some have said low carb raises testosterone levels which can cause hair loss but I never bought that explanation. But everyone I've heard about with this problem eventually said the hair grew back. |

| if you do a search here, you'll find threads on hair loss. it's tricky, because it is one of those symptoms that can be caused from many, many things. some people report they lose hair when they lose weight very quickly, too, regardless of the method. i don't have personal experience with this, so i can't share that with you. please do continue to closely monitor your physical well-being, and see a doc if you continue to have problems. we want for you to be well! |

| Every time I went on a weight loss diet in my yo-yo diet craze, I lost hair. I found that when I took a calcium supplement (1200 mg/day) I no longer had any hair loss while I was losing weight.

| Thanks, yeah I did do a search and the calcium thing seems to be coming up, that and B vitamins. i can't imagine I am not getting enough B's, but I will give the calcium an try, thanks. It is really not nearly as bad as many people reported so iam not too worried. Thanks for all the advice ( again!)
