| Hey everyone, I'm back (again) I had to take a year off as I was pregnant, not only do I now have a gorgeous 5 month old daughter, I also have double the belly I had when I started atkins! I'm currently 13st 3lbs (my heaviest yet) I'm aiming to get down to 10st - 10st 7lb. Right induction starts tomorrow, mmm, can taste the scrambled eggs already...

| Hey, Thanks for all the welcome backs! I can't get a pic up at the mo as my scanner is still in a box as we've just moved. (OK, we moved like 3 weeks ago, but it is still in a box somewhere!) Anyway, Just been looking at my trusty jar of (full fat) mayonnaise and found sugar in the ingredients, yet no carbs listed. Hmmm, seems a bit dodgy if you ask me. Anyone else got sugary mayo? I'm off shopping later so I'm gonna check out different brands, but I'm sure this is the same mayo as I used last time. Anyway, if anyone has any input on my sugary findings let me know. Would love to find out if mayo is sugary the other side of the pond! thanks!

| Welcome back Munchaholic! I just checked my mayo and sugar is listed but near the bottom of the list. That suggests that it's a negligible amount per serving and not enough to show up in the carb listing. making your own mayo is easy in a blender. For we metrically impaired Americans 13 st. 3 pounds translates to 185 I believe. Last edited by Rob; 08-12-2006 at 07:29 AM. |

| Yep, all the mayo I see in the stores has sugar, but it's listed after salt, so it must be an extremely small amount. (If it's such a small amount, then why do they bother to put it in the mayo in the first place?) I use store-bought when I don't have time to fool with making my own, but much prefer homemade. I've made it with coconut oil, and that mayo makes one dandy coleslaw! Congratulations on your baby, and welcome back to the world of low carb. |

| Well looking at mine and it's Whipped Salad Dressing instead of Mayo and it lists 1g of sugars and 6g of fat for a 1 Tbsp serving size. Just know when they make something low fat they have to add something back in it to give it flavor and usually that's either sugar or salt. Better choice would be to get use to using mustard. Good luck on your weight loss plan. Zman |
