Default Hot hot hot

I did Atkins years (4) ago and did really well...lost about 30#'s...and have kept it off. Trying now to loose more, get back on the wagon...etc. This was day 3 and I don't remember feeling like hell the last time. Probably because I've been on a month long binge prior to this ~lol~

Does anyone else get hot after a meal? I got so hot after eating dinner tonight I thought I was going to be ill. No veggies tonight but I had a big green salad w/blue cheese dressing for lunch.

Is it just me or is this happening with anyone else?

Amy - I found myself sweating a lot the first couple of weeks. I think maybe it has something to do with the change in metabolism, the burning of fat instead of sugar. Still sweat a lot, but not nearly as much as those first few days.:hot:

Welcome, Amy.

I never experienced anything like that. You and Beth are the first folks I've heard mentioning it.

Hope you'll make yourself at home here.

Welcome, Amy!

It's possible that your body is kicking into fat-burning mode, actually increasing your metabolism some, and that could be making you hot. Or perhaps you are eating with such gusto that you're steaming afterward!!! Seriously, you could be ill, and perhaps the bug is making you feverish and queasy. Drink lots of water, too. It will help you cool down, and will help flush out the junk you are burning off.

Wishing you success!

amy-when i was detoxing from sugar, i didn't get hot specifically, but i felt a lot like i had the flu. i wouldn't be suprised if it's just an individual reaction to that, but it's not a particularly common one. keep up drinking your water and be sure to take at least a good mutlivitamin. hope you're feeling better soon!

Amy, I've been peri-menopausal for 5 or 6 years now, & I'm only 33. Not to say that's what's happening, but it's possible. Of course, I still think it's the change in your metabolism, burning the fat instead of the junk! Sounds better, anyway, huh?
