| Hey guys. I am on day 8 of induction-again darn it. Anyway, I have lost 6 pounds, but for the past three days my body wont budge not even a half a pound. I upped my water intake yesterday. And cut back on asparatme. I have watched my carbs like a hawk every day. Will I get a woosh? Or am I screwed? "Can I get a woosh-woosh..." lol HELP! |

| With induction-again you probably won't lose like your first induction. Your six pounds may have been your only whoosh. But don't get discouraged. Keep it up and the losses will come again!

| 6 lbs is a large loss for just 8 days. Your body may simply be adjusting; after a good loss, it is not uncommon for the rate of loss to slow down or even come to a stop. Stay on plan, drink your water, get your exercise in, and be patient. You may want to stay off of the scales for a few days as well.(I find I have to stay off the scales sometimes as I tend to let them rule my life at times...LOL.) Good luck! I really think you'll be fine! S.

| I've been following the original Atkins plan for over three weeks now. The first week I lost 7 pounds. Since then, the scale has been up a pound, then down a pound. I have not lost more than 7 pounds all this time, however. But, yanno what? I've been low-carbing since 1998, and lost over 150 pounds, and from experience I know that eventually my body will respond and the scale will go down again. So, just hang in there, stay off the scale, and keep eating low carb. The weight will come off.

| I would say be happy to have lost that much. I've been on induction for one week and have only lost half a pound. I would like to know what you're doing cause I would be super excited to lose that much. Congrats on your loss. I think you are doing great. |

| Sherry- You're on you second induction, you list your weight as 129, and it's been three days since you've lost a pound...Hon, I hate to tell you, but you really have to chill a bit. Understand this is said with love. I know where you're coming from. Every little blip feels like it's all gonna stop working, right? You want it to go fast, fast, fast! And I think we all have been there at one time or another, if not currently. But you have to focus. 3 days does not a stall make! If you hit 3 weeks, ok, I can understand getting worried. But a bit here and there, you can't go nuts over. A few thoughts that may help: second inductions tend to be slower than the first, and when you get down to weight you are at now, weights go down slower as well. And while your head thinks 116 is a perfect weight for you, it's possible your body may disagree. Now I have no way of knowing how you "wear" whatever weight you have or what's appropriate for you. But depending on your height and other factors, you may have a very tough time getting down that low. And even if you don't, it still may take a while. The big thing to remember here is that for this to keep working, you have to keep doing. So whether pound number 7 comes off at 8 days or 10 days or whatever does NOT matter. What matters is that it stays wherever the heck it goes when it leaves your hips, man. And for it to stay gone, you have to keep the faith. If you find daily weighing discouraging, then weigh once a week. Do whatever you can to 1. make good choices, and 2. keep your attitude in good shape, and the losses follow. Peace out. |
