Default Am I a newbie?

Hiya, I'm Lori. I've been on Atkins before and have since fallen off the wagon. I happen to be the worst LCer around, so I am going to be honest and say that I cheat frequently. I have to make an honest attempt to do this WOE the right way so I'm giving myself this time around to do this right. I'm 25years old, in the London area, I'm a nurse and I am engaged. Looking to lose the pounds before the wedding, but we haven't set the date so I have some time. Looking for the support....drop me a line

Welcome Lori. This is a great site for support. However, you have to make the commitment and then follow through. Have you thought about why you "cheat"? Do you need low carb alternatives to help you through any craving issues? When I started this WOE, I knew that if it worked for me, it would have to be something I did for the rest of my life, otherwise the weight would simply return as it did with every other diet I tried. I also knew that I would have to find tasty alternatives for the high carb foods I used to eat. I have done that and now know that this is something I can really do. If you need help, just ask.

I second Henry in your welcome...... and secondly...... this DOES have to be a way of life (WOL).... truly, for us that are dedicated, it is NOT a short fix to losing weight, for all, unfortunately, too soon, it will return. In any event, welcome to the board. There are so many knowleable people and moderators that if you need help, you will find it here.

Hi, Lori! Welcome! I, too, am starting back on Atkins after being off for a while. Fortunately, while being off, I only gained back 3 lbs., but I still have over 150 to lose! There are a group of us who are doing extremely low carb, going back to Dr. Atkins' original program.

You'll find lots & lots of support here. It's the best low-carb forum on the web!
