| Hi, Crystal - we have a South Beach forum here on this site. It might help to post your questions there, as well. My husband, John, followed South Beach several months ago, so I bought the book. According to what I remember, you can have tomatoes and the balsamic vinegar. There is a site here I found online when John was following South Beach, and you may find it helpful, especially this thread for Phase 1. We have several members here who follow South Beach, as well as other nutritional weight-loss approaches besides low carb, and I wish you luck in your weight-loss endeavors. Whatever plan you decide to follow, find one that you can live with long-term, and please stick around and glean support from this helpful, supportive community.
