Default Great Dessert!

I've bought the most fabulous dessert, that I have to share it with you all! Its Blue Bunnies Sweet Freedom Supremes Ice Cream bars (I purchased them from Wal-Mart), my favorite is the Peanut Butter Cup! Its only 6 net carbs per bar and you would have never guessed how good it is!

fireman-glad you enjoyed your treat.

I did take a look at the nutritional info for these at the blue bunny website, and found these bars do have quite a few sugar alcohols (i.e. 9 grams). this means you'll probably need to be careful not to overdo, as sugar alcohols can create problems for a lot of folks, and certain sugar alcohols can create gastrointenstinal side effects if you eat too much. malitol in particular can create wicked stomach cramps and some other, less mentionable issues at times. so make sure you strictly limit your intake!

for more info on sugar alcohols and making informed choices, check out andrea's very helpful article here.

peace out.

Welcome, fireman.

Hope you'll make yourself at home.

(Given the way sugar alcohols act on my blood glucose levels, I'd have to count at least 15 gms of carbs per bar - and that's way over my limit. YMMV.)

I love the Blue Bunny lc desserts. I have to be careful not to go overboard, or I get the symptoms that goddess described. Also, I'm trying out the "back to basics" challenge, and I'm going with the very low-carb approach, so these just aren't on my menu at this point. But, I'll get to where I can have them again--just need to make sure I limit my intake.

Thank you for the welcome!

I usually don't have much trouble with sugar alcohols but I do try to limit them anyways.
