| I've been doing low carb for about three weeks. And I have to add, doing great. Its not my first time on low carb, and so I know which foods I can have and can't on induction. But something I've never experienced before is a metalic taste in my mouth. What gives with that? Its not a constant thing...Comes and goes. If I go higher in carbs then it seems to go away, If I am really hard core low on my carbs its there more. I thought at one point I had seen something about this *someplace*. I thought it just easier to ask here instead of going back into my mounds of information trying to locate an answer. Thanks for your help!! Love that low Carb power!!

| Natalie, what you are experiencing is an observable effect of being in ketosis. In other words, you have successfully converted your body from an organism that burns glucose for energy to one that burns fat for energy. Being in ketosis is a good thing for assisting with your weight loss. I just use a little mouth wash or drink a flavored diet-rite to mask the taste of ketosis.

| I experience the same problem, I just drink more water and the taste goes away. I strive for at least 64 oz. a day. |
