I haven?t dropped any weight for the last 3 weeks. My ?typical? weekly meals include; Breakfast: 2 eggs and 3 pieces of bacon (maybe 2-3 times a week) 1 cup South Beach Cereal and ? cup skim milk or apple other days Lunch / Dinner: Applebee?s Buffalo wings (bone in no breading) with blue cheese dressing 1-2 times a week Barbecue pork 1-2 times a week Steak with salad and sweet potato maybe once a week Unbreaded meat and green vegetables other days Snacks: Apples Grapes Plums. Drinks: 1 cup coffee @ breakfast Unsweet tea lunch Water all other times 4-5 1/2 liter bottles of water during day. What am I doing wrong? |

| Welcome Mark. From your menu, it looks like you may be attempting to follow a South Beach Diet approach. I am sure there are others here that are familiar with that approach and can provide you with helpful comments. However, I have been following the Atkins approach so my comments would not necessarily be applicable as I believe there is a substantial difference between the two methods, once you are out of the Induction phase.

| First off, congrats on the 25 pounds. Although I don't follow South Beach you may want to consider that after your 25 pound drop, your body is just adjusting. In general most people do not lose in a consistent linear fashion. The weight tends to come off in fits and spurts. You may want to track your progress in a program like fitday.com which allows you to track calories (yes, too many calories, even in low carb, can stall weight loss) and the makeup of your diet. It is great for finding hidden carbs and making one accountable to ones self.

| Mark, Welcome to the boards and great job on the 25 pounds in the first month! That is quite the accomplishment in itself!! I wish that I had better info for you but SB isn;t my following, I am atkins girl thru and true! LOL I guess that "bbq" pork and the sweet potatoes were the alarming items on your menu for me atleast, they are both so high in carbs. Maybe cutting them and replacing them with simply veggies or a protein snack like nuts or seeds instead? I agree with Libby, I think that the 25 pounds is alot for your body to take in for one month & it might ready to swoosh some more pounds out. If your menu is by the SB book then I don't see your weight doing anything but diminishing frankly. Wish I had more info for you! Best of luck and keep us posted.
