| I had a hard time convincing my husband to give up his traditional British meals of starchy beans and jacket potatoes and battered fish and chips. Well, we still eat a modified version of fried fish Atkins style which he says he likes better than the usual British fare. We are also eating loads more veg than before. But he just had his results back and the GP was amazed that his cholesterol is within the normal range now after being diagnosed as a heart attack waiting to happen a year ago. He has never been overweight and it is interesting that although I still am, but steadily shrinking, I never have had a cholesterol problem. The GP did not believe me about doing Atkins, but we did it anyway and look what has happened without having to take those nasty tablets. I think we have finally convinced the GP that Atkins really works. Not to mention, my blood sugar is finally under control and without having to resort to medication. Atkins rocks! |
