Smile HI All! So glad I found you!

I was wondering if this was "illegal" -- it seems to help my sweet cravings. I saute pecans in butter and then sprinkle them with Splenda and cinnamon. Its really good. I just worry that the nuts will put on the lbs!
Any advice would be helpful and I am so glad ther is a forum out here like this!

Hi Carey68,
Welcome to LCE. Nuts are acceptable when low carbing, but they are a calorie and fat dense food item. Lots of folks can't stop with that *small handful* serving Dr Atkins often refered to, and therefore, they may be a problem. If you find you are not losing, or you are *stalled* out, then you might want to re-think things and chose another low carb snack such as raw veggies and dip.

Post often and let us know how you are doing.

HTH

Welcome, Carey.

I love pecans this way! To prevent myself from pigging out on them, I only make them a handful at a time. The hassle of having to do it all over again gives me enough time to think about whether or not I really want more.

I've also used a smidgen of DaVinci's caramel syrup on mine, and stirred them until most of it evaporated (in addition to the Splenda), and they were divine. You might also try a tiny bit of cayenne pepper for a little kick. Hot is supposed to go very well with sweet.
