Default do you count the cheese/eggs carbs on induction?

Hi all,

I'm confused about induction. Do you count the carbs in cheese,
eggs, etc., toward the 20 gram total? From the book I get the
impression those are free foods, carb wise.

Thanks much,

HI, and welcome. The carbs are counted for Atkins. Also, some types of cheese are not permitted and those that are permitted are limited because of the lactose (a sugar) that is in them. If you have not yet bought the book for your low/controlled carb approach, I suggest that you do. Good luck.

Welcome!

Most people don't worry about carbs in eggs, unless you're eating them by the dozen. Cheese, though, has some carbs, and so it is not an unlimited food. I believe the book allows 4 oz per day on induction of hard cheese or cream cheese.

Henry's right, it's best to read the book through, and then make your food choices accordingly. Some people aren't cheese eaters, some not egg eaters, some love both! Just keep in mind that both foods have some carbs and you really need to count them toward your total.

Wishing you much success.

Thanks, Henry and Nita. It's funny, I'm only a newbie "again"
and I've read the book a number of times, including recently. I
have been using fitday, and when I saw the number of carbs
generated by the induction foods other than vegtables, I suddenly
wondered if I'd been doing it wrong other times. D'oh!

On Day 12, feeling great, clothes getting a bit looser,
and not thinking about food and/or wine. Miracle!

Last time, last time, last time.... is my mantra.
