Default Another newbie

Hi all! I'm just posting an intro. as another newbie here. I have 73 lbs. to lose and have lost 11 so far. Yea!!! I turned 37 in November and was noticing that I woke up hurting every morning. Then I went to the Dr. and he told me that my cholesterol was slightly elevated. I bought the Atkins book a couple of years ago and read it and decided it would be the best choice for me when I decided to do something. Well, two years later I finally got around to it. Love the energy that I am feeling. I've been lurking here on this sight for a couple of weeks and have learned so much from you all! I know that I have to track what I'm eating, because just keeping up with it in my head led to going over the 20 carbs per day limit. I registered at fitday. I up'ed my water intake, cut the coffee intake (but haven't quit yet). On the water, I'm up to 64+ oz. per day and am finding that it's not hard to do. I do spend a fair amount of time on the road and that's the hardest part. After looking at the nutrition info at most fast food places, I've been afraid to go to any! That's about it, thank you all for what you have contributed, this is a great site with great people!

Hey, you are off and running! Well done on a great start; that new found energy is quite the bonus, isn't it?

Great for you AK. It's good to feel the energy, I remember feeling so drained on diets before and I too saw the difference with this way of eating right away. Glad you found this site, it's very helpful.

Just to let you all know--the new woe is going well. I've tried a few recipes and am finding what's going to work for our family and what is not. 19 days into it and still losing. I feel like I've really gotten the concept that this is really a WOE for life. It's about a healthier way of eating. Thanks again everyone. I continue to learn so much from your experiences.
