Wink Newbie. Just wanted to say hi to everyone.

Hi, I'm Misty.
I just started doing Atkins this past Sunday and have been looking ever since then for the perfect LC support group. I think I have found it here! I have already read a lot of the success stories and I am amazed by the results!
I bought DANDR in 1998 and have read it at least a hundred times, so I know pretty much what I am doing and what to expect. But I really need the support of others to help me along the way. I have struggled ever since I was 18 (I'm 26 now) with my weight. After getting married, having kids and having surgery to have my thyroid removed, my weight just keeps going up. It has taken me 8 years to get up the motivation to do anything about it, but I am here now and I am so ready to turn my life around. (BTW, I have already lost 4 pounds in just 4 days!)
Thanks for listening and I hope to chat with y'all soon!

Hi Misty & WELCOME!

You have definitely come to the right place for support & encouragement! We are happy to help any way we can and those of us who have been doing this awhile will help you through the any rough areas you might encounter.
I'm SO glad to hear you have read the book! That is so key and so many newbies don't realize how important it is. Knowledge is POWER!

For now, if you have time, try to read through the "stickies" at the top of the newbie forum. Also, you might want to peruse our articles and recipes for ideas and tips to keep you motivated.
You are going to do GREAT!
I know you can, I know you can, I KNOW YOU CAN!

Welcome Misty,
Glad to read your post. This is a great site, it goes through some quite times and then it gets active again. There are a lot of great old posts to go through for the quite times.

There are too many great recipes in the community recipe section to ever feel deprived. I think that you'll be amazed at the creativity that recipes contain. (Like the amazing induction pizza where the crust is made with chicken instead of dough. Tried it, fiddled with it and kind of liked it.)

So don't worry about a boring diet, you've lost 4 pounds already and you're on your way. Glad you joined our group.
