Welcome Eva! I'm new too. I started Atkins on March 11 and have lost 7 pounds already! I absolutely love this new way of eating.

skeydon- hang in there. a few days into it after you're done getting the sugar out of your system completely, it normally gets much, much easier.

Welcome, skyedon.

Yup. Once you've converted from a carb burning metabolism to a fat burning one (benign dietary ketosis) things generally get very much better in terms of how you feel. Not only better than how you feel now, but better than how you felt before you started. Indeed, that's what helps a lot of folks to stay on track with low carbing.

skyedon- most "low carb" sf candy has sugar alcohols, and while people respond to those differently, yes, a bloated and gasey response is not in the least unusal. if you're only eating a very small amount and getting that, i would suspect you are one of the folks who is very sensitive to sugar alcohols.

while you might feel a little disappointed, it may well be a blessing in disguse. those lc specialty products can really cause problems for many folks, and must be approached very carefully.
