| Hello Guys, I am 23 years old and just started low carb last Sunday. 2 weeks ago I weighted about 140-145 and as of now I am at 129.4. I don't know how that happened but I don't think this all came from just eating low carb for 1 week. My goal is to weight 120 pounds and I am hoping to reach that goal by May because I am going to start going back into swimming and have been requested by my Coach to lose 10 more pounds . I need to lose the weight first before I can start building muscle. So I was wondering if that is possible and what is it that I need to do to make achieve this goal? Since last Sunday, I have been eating 3 eggs, bacon, and drinking water for breakfast. For lunch is it whole wheat bread, chicken, and vegetables. I need that since I am allergy to cheese and it makes me very sick so I need some nurtions. For dinner, I eat either chicken, hot dog, or shrimp with tons of vegetable which has 5% of crab. I only drink water nothing else. Would this help me lose weight quicker or am I doing some things wrong? Also what would you advised that I eat? Ever since I started eating unhealthy, I have noticed that I don t feel good physically such as I tend to get out of breath, tired or when I wake up I feel like as if I just ate ( does that make any sense?) So since last Sunday I don't get tried as often, I feel great in the morning and don't get out of breath as much. This would help me swim better as well. Thanks and I look forward to some of your comments! |

| Coolsista- Welcome to lowcarbeating. If you want to make the most of out your experience low-carbing and have the very best chance for success, I would encourage you to pick a plan, get the book for that plan, and use it like a roadmap along your journey. It really makes a huge difference in terms of overall success when you understand what you're doing and can make informed decisions. While many of us here follow Atkins or variations, there are several plans to pick from. You are also usually best off eating whole, real foods, which it sounds like you are. That's very helpful! And it's great that you're not afraid of veggies-a staple in the lc way of life... It is not unsual for people to experience a quick, sometimes dramatic loss on the scale when they begin low carb. Naturally, as with any new eating plan, a lot of that early loss is water weight (although it still feels good to see). As you continue, it doesn't remain that speedy, but you can get moving forward nonetheless. With a small amount of weight you are looking to lose, it sometimes can take a while. So have patience, my friend, and get educated! Hanging around here is another great way to learn and get some encouargement, too. Good luck to you! |

| Hi & WELCOME! ![]() I can't add much to what Goddess said, but just want to tell you that your menu looks really great! I'll bet eating those vegetables and drinking all that water is what is helping you lose so quickly! I think you will find that the longer you eat this way, the better you will feel. Keep up the great work!
