Default Hidden Carbs in Supplements?

Hi. I just started the Atkins induction phase about 48 hours ago. I need supplementation in calcium and potassium, as well as general supplementation. But there is no information on any of the labels about carbs. I'm planning to use GNC MegaMen Sport, GNC Calcium Citrate 1000 and GNC Potassium & Magnesium Aspartate. Does anyone know if there are carbs or other compounds that might trigger an insulin response in these?

Thanks.

Ken

Hello Ken.

I was looking at their website for a bit and wasn't able to see anything "off" in the descriptions of ingredients. Personally, I usually will check labels and so long as there are no carbs or sugars listed, I don't worry about it too much. I figure that if there is nothing suspicious listed, whatever issues I find will be neglible. Of course, your milage may vary.

And welcome to LCE! Delighted to have you join us.

Ken, I buy a lot of my supplements from Puritan's Pride, and they usually say right on the description whether a supplement contains sugar, yeast, starch, etc. Just be sure to read the ingredients label carefully; however, what little you'd have in a tablet or capsule probably won't derail you.

It's good to know you're starting this journey with some good supplements.

Welcome, and I wish you success on your low carb journey.
