Red face Help! Coconut Oil question!

I just came back from my neighborhood 'natural' grocery store with a jar of Coconut oil and after reading threads about it, I'm worried because it's not "Extra Virgin"! I have the receipt and have not opened it, so should I exchange it?
It is by "Spectrum", 100% expeller pressed naturally refined organic coconut oil, 0 trans fat, 0 carbs. Is it still okay to use, or are the benefits not there because it's not "Extra Virgin"? Or is it just like Olive Oil, and just better if extra virgin? (this one was $3.00 less a jar, so that's why I bought it!) Thanks guys, any advice would be appreciated, and I won't open it until I hear!

Hello Cinderella,
From what I have been reading it needs to be Raw extra virgin coconut oil. Do an internet search and type in Raw Coconut oil. Hope I helped.

There are various uses for the different coconut oils. The EV is generally very, very aromatic of coconuts, so not suitable for all applications. The expeller pressed is good when you don't want your final product to scream "COCONUTS." LOL!

Both kinds are IMHO, useful and more healthful than many alternatives.

HTH!

Thanks so much for the info. I actually looked the brand up on the internet and under the FAQ's it said just that. I'm anxious to use in te OMM. I have used EVOO (xtra virgion Olive Oil) and no sweetener when I want a more savory OMM and it's worked out well. Thank you again!
