| Hello, I think I have made a slipup-I am on my 3rd day of Induction for Atkins (started Tuesday) and ketostix showed a trace for ketones this morning. I think I slipped as I had a 1 min muffin sweetened with sf Torani syrup (no Splenda). Will this knock me out of ketosis? I know once you are out just buckle down and hang in there-I am so disappointed because I have kept strict counts of everything including Splenda. |

| Are you following the book? If you are on induction then yup a little slip up has occurred. I don't think we are supposed to have items like the OMM during that period. The purpose of Induction is to get the body into a fat burning condition. So limitation of most carbs is very important. IMHO don't even consider "net carbs" at this time. Carbs is Carbs during Induction. That is what has worked best for me at least. All is not lost. Just get back to the the regular Induction and keep right on trucking. I'm sure you're doing great. The Keto stix are only 1 of the many indicators of your progress. I'm going back to strick Induction at this time as well. Good luck with your Journey. :great:

| I'm on induction too and I have the OMM every day! I also have the Torani syrup and use Coconut oil or butter and the brand of Flax seed mea I use is net carb 0, and from everything I've read, the OMM seemed to be fine during induction. So am I misinterpeting, or did I screw up too?

| I've been having the OMM every day since I've discovered the recipe. However, I am not using any type of sweetner in it at all. I don't know if that would be considered a slip up or not?? I'm still losing weight at a slow but steady pace. I guess it's one of those YMMV things?? Linda |

| Using artificial sweetener is not prohibited during induction, just be sure to count the carbs included in the sweetener. As far as the OMM not being acceptable for induction, that is NOT correct, as long as you only have 1 a day. As a general rule you are to avoid seeds and nuts during induction. However, according to the Atkins website, if you must have a bread during induction, then 1 high fiber bread is ok as long as it has less than 3 net carbs. The OMM meets that limitation.

| Whew! That's a relief! However I must admit...that I have more than 1 a day, just can't help it! From now on, I'll stick to one!

| Thanks! I haven't had another and am going thru a bout of induction flu along with TOM. I am usually up by up to 6 lbs of water weight during this time but am now down 2 lbs. I know this is water weight but hey, this never happens at this time. I am so upbeat about what can happen after TOM if I just hang in there! |

| Lisa, we have a saying around here YMMV which means "your mileage may vary." You will have to find out by trial and error with some foods. Something that may not stall a friend just might put the brakes on your weight loss for awhile. As far as the OMM goes, I wouldn't have more than one during induction and you may decide to adjust that portion as well. A OMM is my #1 bread choice for LCing. |
