Default Is ketosis a number?

I have so much to say, about the last couple years. I will get to that another day. However...

I need to know if ketosis is number. On the ketostix, the chart goes from trace amounts (5 mg) to Large amounts (80-160mg). To me if there is trace or small amounts of ketones, then you are in ketosis.

Someone please verify or tell me how wrong I am ?

THanks in Advance.

any ketosis is ketosis. while it's more emotionally gratifiying to see "deep" ketosis, that isn't necessarily more beneficial. sometimes, it just means you aren't drinking enough water, for that matter.

i've heard it compared to pregnancy-there is no "little bit pregnant."

That is absolutely right! Ketosis is ketosis -- even if it shows up "barely there" on the strips.
Please also keep in mind that how light or dark your strips turn is LARGELY dependent upon how much water you are drinking. The more diluted your urine output, the fewer ketones will show up on the strip. This does not mean that you are not in ketosis; it just means that your body has ample means of ridding them from the body. And since, in fact, they ARE a waste product, you WANT to rid them as safely as possible. Being well-hydrated is the safest way I know. Even if I have never had the satisfaction of seeing a dark test strip!
LOL!
