| I went to a new family doctor, actually I went back to my old one from when I was a child. He is the same mild manored, matter of fact, thoughtful man as I remembered. I asked him, " Your thoughts on low carb?" He glanced at me and said, "They are a great way to lose weight, quickly, however, don't go nuts and stop eating carbs altogether." "Also I would like to hear that you are eating lean meats vs. a lot of red meats that are very high in fat and cholesterol." "The medical field has changed our negative thoughts on low carb and I recommend low carb often." "They are more effective in the long run!!!I was escatic that finally thoughts are changing!!!I thought that would brighten everyones day!!! ![]()

| Wow, and open-minded doctor. Although I disagree with him on the lean meats, since there isn't any evidence that fat increases cholesterol, but evidence that cutting carbs decreases bad cholesterol and increases good cholesterol, it's refreshing that he would actually recommend low carb. |

| That is what I thought. My last doctor lost a ton of weight on Southbeach. (like almost 100 pounds)
