Default Starting Over

I started the Atkins diet in October 2004, lost 25 lbs and 6 months later quit dieting. I kept the weight off for over a year. I got married in June 2006, and was at my lowest weight (120 lbs.). Then I started gaining, partly because my husband loves pasta, and we were eating pasta 4 times a week. By January 2007 I weighed 150 lbs. and found out I was pregnant. As you might guess I gained even more weight. I weighed 194 lbs. when I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl (9/18/2007). I immediatly lost 10 lbs., but after staying home with her for 9 weeks, I gained it right back. I weigh 195 lbs. now, and really want to get back to 135 lbs. I know I have a long way to go, but Atkins worked for me before and hopefully it will work for me again. It's going to be hard, cause my husband still loves pasta, but I can do it. I'm going to start induction on Monday after grocery shopping tomorrow.

Hi Julie,
Welcome to LCE

As we've all heard, at one time or another in our lives,...the journey starts with a single step. You've taken that first step by choosing to manage your weight while eating as healthy as possible.

There are lots of great people here for support and to cheer you on! I couldn't have done it without them, myself.

Congrats on your bundle of joy ...and good luck on your low carb journey back to your goal!

Post often...we look forward to getting to know you!

Welcome to LCE.

I think you'll find this a great place for support, encouragement, and ideas as you find ways to balance your needs with your family's needs. And do remember: taking good care of yourself is the best gift you can give your little one at this point.

Glad to have you with us.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I started induction today, and so far so good. Tomorrow will be the test, with our women's church Christmas party and carry in dinner. I'm going to take an egg and bacon casserole, and hopefully someone will bring fresh veggies.

Julie

Let us know how it goes Abby. I understand the church potlucks and others are getting used to me bringing in a dish but then eating out of a bag lunch.
