carbs in seasonings and herbs?? I made a pork roast this weekend with rosemary and garlic. I was doing up some recipes on Fitday and my husband (don't you just looooooooooove helpful hubby's??) "did you coun't the carbs from the pan and the foil and all that stuff you put on the roast???" Yea, suddenly I'm thinking OMG, carbs in the herbs - I didn't use oddles and it's spread throughout the recipe, but it did come to a couple of carbs. help!

I certainly wouldn't count the carbs in the herbs, unless you are using a blend that has some sort of filler in it, or has added sugar to it. You don't add enough herbs to really count. Now, if you had put in a cup of rosemary, and several heads of garlic, you might have to count the carbs, but then, your roast wouldn't have been edible! Sometimes we try to nitpick on our carb counts, and all it does is frustrate us. I know some people who count a carb for every cup of coffee. Sorry, I think that's going too far. That's my opinion, anyway.

"you had put in a cup of rosemary, and several heads of garlic" ![]() I don't think anyone could stand to be around me today if I had!! Oh Nita, thank you. I too thought it was silly, but I'd rather ask and be safe. Thanks, Tara
