| Molly, I had not heard of this carb rotation "diet" before you mentioned it and have not seen it discussed on this or other forums. I did a google search for it and came up with a lot of sales hype for a plan developed by a self-described "credible professional dietician" by the name of Jayson Hunter. Personally, I have an immediate negative reaction to anyone who describes himself as "credible". However, the tease for his "diet", without buying his book, appears to be "...5 simple steps you can follow to help you lose twenty pounds of pure fat. And these steps will help you keep the weight off and end once and for all the yo-yo dieting dilemma. 1. Increase Non-Starchy Vegetable Intake. 2. Protein Should Be At Every Meal. 3. Eat Whole Grain Carbohydrates. 4. Eat More Healthy Fats. 5. Eat Frequent Meals." I would be skeptical of his approach simply because of the sales hype and characterization as a "diet". The objective of a good low carb plan is to take weight off and to develop eating skills that make it a true lifestyle change that will sustain the loss, rather than a quick way to lose the magic 20 pounds. If you are looking for a quick loss that you won't be able to sustain, you might want to look at the Stillman diet. However, if you are looking at developing a permanent change in your eating habits to lose weight and then maintain those loses, I would look elsewhere at Atkins, SouthBeach, Protein Power, to name a few.

![]() We shy away from the term "diet", because it gives the idea of something you follow until you get to a goal weight, and then quit following to eat "normally". We prefer a "way of eating" (woe) that is a way to eat for life, to improve our health first and foremost, and then losing weight as a bonus. However, if you choose to follow this diet, and you need encouragement, we will certainly be here for you if you need us. |
