Default Not new.. but some of you may remember me!

Hi Every One...

I'm back.. unfortunately with lots of extra weight plus! As some of you may know I had lost 124 + lbs and was almost at goal. I felt great! I was active and kicking butt in Tae Kwon Do. Unfortunately my body decided that it didn't like it. My Thyroid not only wasn't creating T4's but stopped converting them to T3's. Double wammy!

So over the last couple of years my weight went up and up and up.. and now I weight more than I did before I had lost all the weight to begin with. My thyroid is still not under control and I am sick of meds and I am sick of being this size! The strange thing about thyroid meds.. is that is send those sugar craving into over drive.

I feel like a ticking time bomb....(more so now than ever after loosing my mom in Aug) and I am making one last attempt to do LC once again (even though I have never quit trying) before seeking medical to do a gastric bypass.

I know that one of the things that helped my success last time is by being a faithful member here on LC. So I am starting from scratch.... starting right here. The support on here was amazing.. not to mention I made lots of friends. Hopefully some of you are still here.

Next I will go back to drinking my 1 gal of water with essential minerals. Pick up some flax seed, some good vitamins etc etc.
and just trace all my moves from last time.

I need to figure out a way to think about the smaller picture again, going from day to day with 1lb / 1 inch gone at a time. Though I find it difficult already knowing and remember how long it took reaching the size and health I was before.

ok.. done now.. LOL Thanks for the ear! I know making a formal announcement of what I am going to set out to accomplish (once again) is more of an affirmation to my sub-conscious than for any other reason.

Positive thoughts and positive numbers ahead!

Thanks in advance for all your suport!

Welcome back, Tanya.

Please accept my condolences on the loss of your mother.

I'm sorry to hear about your thyroid roller coaster, and hope your meds will be balanced out soon, so you can concentrate on your return to a low carb lifestyle.

Really happy to see you again!

Thanks for the warm welcome every one!

I'm not waiting for my meds to work as this is going into my 3rd year already... as a matter of fact I am done taking them for a little while to see if I can straighten them out holistically or not. (nope.. didn't talk to the doc first .. and don't plan on it!)

Right now I am planing and buying things in preparation to start. I am going to stock up on meat, veggies, seasonings, heavy cream, cheese, pork rinds, .. you know.. all the basics.

As for my mom... she has been sick for about 10 years. It was a blessing that she went home. I have her permission and my blessings to do so in June. She was over weight her whole life. At the end she didn't weight to much but the damage had been done. Her heart was half gone, she was type 2 diabetic, COPD, CHF, Renal Failure (which is what got her), she was on Dialysis 3 times a week, she had dimentia caused from a stroke... man.. I think I covered everything. Anyways..when I took off the weight the first time.. I was excited and happy because I knew I could beat genetics. Unfortunately.. I didn't know that thyroid issues ran in the family until after mine hit. (i don't know if she had thyroid issues or not). So I am determined one way or another that I am going to go out of this world healthy at the end. I know that seems weird sounding .. because you figure if you die of natural causes then you must be sick. Not true.. your body just gets tired. I want that to be me!

Another thing that I may have done to sabatage myself with the weight issue is the words I used. Over the last few years I became a hypnotherapist. It was then that I realized how words affects us on every level. For instance... when I say I "lost" the weight. What happens when we loose something? We try to find it! Another thing that I used to say is " I won't gain that weight back". I subconscious hears " I gain that weight back".

So along with the food changes, I am making word replacement changes as well. Going to write a good hypnosis script for myself as well. Making changes and modifications that goes beyond the surface and into the psyche.

Ok.. done now... LOL.. more than you ever wanted to know!

Tanya! I'm so glad to see you. I'd often wondered how you were doing.

I'm sorry about the rough ride you've had, hon. Glad your mom is not in pain now, although I'm sure you miss her. That indeed sounds like a rough period.

I too, have had thyrioid issues, but have found that if I'm not on Estrogen-based Birth Control, I can get by without meds. I hope you find the right balance for you. The meds aren't pricey, but who want to be chained to 'em? I like meds about as much as I like doctors...not a lot!

You know how to this, girlfriend! You know about chaning your thinking and changing your habits and how it's not as hard as you think it will be before you start. And you know we're here to encourage you and cheer you on every step of the way.

Go, Tanya, Go!

Hey Goddess...

Thanks for the warm welcome goddess and rob.

I agree.. I don't like being chained to them either. It seems to be a viscous cycle. You take the meds, and your absolutely ravenous and cravings beyond belief. You go off the meds, and you keep gaining weight because your body just slows down.

I am going to try a holistic approach though. I am going to get this stuff called thyrosol and see if that will work. It costs the same as meds (I'm on Armor Thyroid). I need to find a good vitamin too. I thought about doing a colon cleansing too, but unsure. I see so much back and forth on "does it work, and it don't work". I'm curious on if any one here has tried it?

So where is Andrea these days? She still on the boards?

BTW.. you all look great! You have done a great job!

Andrea is still a member here and stops in to say "Hello" from time to time. She got herself a "real" job (i.e. working for somebody else) and sold the site to me about a year and a half ago. She was ready to move on but wanted to make sure LCE stayed available for the community.

We don't talk too often, but from what I understand, she's happy and doing well.

Welcome Back Tanya
I'm starting again also. Hmmm. my greatest success was with the first challenge I ever did - the Valentines Day Challenge.
Maybe we can do that again.

So glad to see you, although not because we have to. I certainly know that feeling. I'm nearly back where I was to begin with.
