I hope you enjoy your lost inches! For me that's the payoff, not what the evil scale says. The scale is "cheat and a liar!" Might want to read Maggies sticky on this in the section above, it's a good read.

| Thank you for your response. I appreciate it. I will read the sticky you mentioned. I think, overall, I'm really enjoying feeling "well" for a change. My diet before starting low carb was unreal. I have been a carb/sugar addict my whole life. For starters I would consume a qt of icecream almost nightly. Pizza two or three nights a week. Candy to no end. I found that there was no way to just slow down on my eating issues. It was all or nothing. So I decided to go through the nasty withdrawls and stop carbs and sugars altogether. It was a nasty couple of weeks with headaches, dizziness, nausea.....you name it. But now I feel really alive for the first time in many years. So the weight loss is a big benefit but the overall feeling of "wellness" beats that hands down. There were mornings I'd go to work and check my sugar and it was 300. I work for a Doc. I'm glad I found this place. I need support to keep going. A little support goes a long way. Thank you again. Hugs Kelly

| Kelly, it's very common for inches to come off at different times than the pounds. Some show the size drop before or after it shows on the scales, but many people report the same phenomena. And tha's been my experience as well. That's one of the reasons I often suggest people use multiple measure of progress because if you're not seeing the one everybody looks at (the evil SCALE), you can usually find another indicator of your work to help keep you motivated. And I used to eat just like that, back in the day! Isn't it terrific to have so much more energy and clarity now? I always have to roll my eyes when I see something about LCers not getting enough food for their brains. Carbs are what makes my brain foggy! Keep up the good work, lady. You're on the right track.
