Smile Newbie dropping in to introduce myself

Hello everyone! My name is Tracy and I began following the Atkins plan on Feb 1.

I've been lurking on this board for the last two weeks soaking up all the good advice that's been posted.

I thought this would be a good time to formally introduce myself. I'm 43, a working wife and mother, and I have rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

I've had an ongoing weight problem since I had children. I am a great loser but a horrible maintainer. I'm hoping to change that trend with Atkins. I've already noticed a marked decrease in my appetite, which is a terrific thing. I've also been able, starting this week, to resume exercising, which will help lessen some of my more severe RA symptoms.

I look forward to meeting people and learning more great tips as this journey unfolds.

Best,
Tracy

Welcome Tracy!
Atkins is my choice as well. I've been LC for several years. As with anything else, stick with what works for you. There are many wonderful people here to support you on this journey.
Tom.

Tracy. As someone who kept regaining weight after losing it, one of the things that appealed to me about the Atkins approach was that by going through the 4 steps, you would have a seamless transition from weight loss to weight maintenance. Good luck.

Welcome Tracy! Glad to meet you! I too, follow Atkins. It is the easiest plan I have ever tried and works fast. My appetite decreased too.....don't you just love that?

Good luck......hope to see you around.

Welcome, Tracy!

I've found that low carb has done wonders for my osteoarthritis. I hope you find improvement with your RA.

It seems that most of us here are based on the Atkins plan. It seems to be the most popular by far.

Wishing you much success!

Glad to have you with us, Tracy! I think many of us have excelled in losing more so than maintaining. As Henry suggested, a pattern like that would make following the stages of Atkins even more important, as they are intended to help you integrate LC permanently into your life.

Hope you enjoy it here!
