| As far as plans for the weekend...nothing really. Mall Walking in the early morning with hubby and then we're going to take a drive to the other side of town to look at the hospital he's building, then drive another 45 minutes from there to "The Pork Shop" to sample some good stuff and bring some meat home. This place is an awesome little pork butcher shop in the boondocks. They have great sausage sticks of many varietys. Got to check the labels to make sure they are not high carb which I'm sure they aren't and stock up for our trip next week. OMG! Who is this guy? I never knew all these extra smileys existing! |

| Well YOU know it and you know you are improving your health and doing well on the plan. I am basically a shy person and got embarrassed when people noticed I'd lost weight. Now, I am dying to get rid of these 30 pounds I've gained just since March! I went to Florida, ate anything I wanted and when I came home I continued on that path and craved everything and ate anything in site rather than going back to wise choices, now I just can't get rid of it! ![]() I have nothing that fits anymore and refuse to buy new stuff! (Well I did buy 2 clearance shirts at Walmart today for only $5 each) Anyway after you lose 10% of your start weight you should feel better and it should start to show. (an old Weight Watcher thing) So take one step at a time and go for that 10 percent, and you may have already hit that mark, I don't know your progress so far. But good luck, stay focused, you will be fine and 1 pound is excellent! 1 pound a week adds up to many pounds over time. You go girl! (no reason to add this mouse except he is so cute!) |

| My DH just walked by stuck his head in the door, and said "Drink your water!". How's that for timing? I am not doing as well, because I am the gal with a cup of coffee in my hand at all times. Once at work, we had a superintendent that wouldn't allow coffee cups on our desks and my dr. prescribed it for my ADHD and told them they would be sorry if i didn't get my daily doses. Atkins does not count coffee, tea, soda, or anything else as part of your water minimum, which makes it twice as hard for me to even get close to the minimum, lol. Hello, me; I taught survival for years and one of the first things i always taught was that you MUST get hydrated before an outdoor adventure, and strive to maintain hydration during, lol. In our desert climate Cindi we are supposed to consume a gallon per HOUR of outdoor activity and not too much less indoors --HA! --as if that has ever happened. Believe it or not extremely humid conditions have the same requirements. Well, I am so strange-- i bought a giant drinking bottle with handle from WM for my h2o, because it was cheap and the gals on weight watchers at work always carry them around. I discovered i will drink about 2 sips a day from it. I have discovered 2 "tricks" that work for me. 1 is to make myself drink a full cup of water out of my coffee cup before I put ore coffee in it. Im usually flying around, so i dont even rise it out (yuck), just slosh it down. No more passing by to heat up my cup... The other one is so silly i hate to even admit it! DH bouth me water in bottles for school, but i hate to spend the money and use the plastic, so I refill them every morning. I actually line up my 4 bottles on my work counter by the sink and my goal is to drink four before lunch and four after lunch. Some days that actually works, because I have to pass by there a lot. I make "little girl magic" deals with myself all day, such as "If I drink this bottle, I can make myself time to go to bathroom, or If I drink this bottle i can eat four almonds next time I walk by the almond jar, lol. Yep, nearly fifty and I still think like a five year old. Maybe its because I am a kindergarten teacher? Well , it works. Good luck fellow waterlilies....one of my little "rewards" is to add one of those generic brand flavor tubes to my water, but of course i get the one with "energy" ie caffeine. Any other ideas? Oh, one more silly one that I taught my son. Whenever you take a shower, make youself take so many drinks of "warm or hot" shower water. I learned that years ago from an old doctor who told everybody to do that to "keep regular". lol. Dont reccommend it if you live in a very old house with lead pipes though. Cheers!

| You guys all have great water ideas. Hate to admit it but I have those single serving flavored packets to add to water I just don't use them and I don't know why. Guess I just like carbonation. I find when I force myself to drink water I am more regular and my skin looks better (the hydration is so necessary). I have got to try harder to drink the h2o. I am not actually that fond of green tea. I only drink it because I read it was good for you. I will start on Monday.....I still have a case of Waist Watcheres soda to go through this weekend...:-) Rained here this weekend. I did nothing but go to school all day today, go to the market, and visit my mom. I'm now going to try to take a nap before getting started on some homework tonight. |

| You know 'they' say to try to limit coffee, soda etc. but IMO it does fill a person up and it's better than eating a bad thing. So I actually drink more soda and add flavored sf powder packets to my water but I also drink tons of regular water, it's like I can't go 2 minutes without taking a swig of something. Just remember, the water is flushing all the bad ju-ju (sp?) out of your system, it's not a punishment you shouldn't force yourself just enjoy it, talk yourself into how delicous it is and remember if you guys don't drink your water... ![]() ![]() These hyper, crazy dancers will do this 'water dance' and haunt you forever! -or until you start gulping it down without thinking! Sorry PiP that you didn't lose this week but you will probably have a whoosh next week. I actually hate the scale so much and it never moves and if I weigh myself every day I will gain a pound or so in one day of being so Good, so it pisses me off and I am not going to step on that scale regularly, I am going to try to do it every 2 weeks maybe, I don't know. I may weigh in Monday because it will be 2 weeks but I know nothing will happen, it's almost been 2 weeks now and I'm only 2 pounds down and actually I Was down 3 and gained 1 1/2 pounds one day, then back down 1, up 1, blah blah blah, it is so dicouraging! So best thing is to not step on the scale so I won't give up. |

Other then hot lemon water (no splenda) I have had tea the last 2 days ,but only cause I was cramping. I am in Ketosis and my mouth is so dry and so I drink. Maybe if your not losing you should post your menus and we can all help The scale said today 346 another pound gone. I had 2 slices of cheese today, so I doubt it will be another pound. Jace is in his room spraying for ants, the ants decided to come in and visit him JOY!!

| The rules say up to 4 oz. of cheese and cream and I never go over that and other than the 1 carb in those things per ounce and 0.6 in eggs and 1> in bacon or maybe 1 or 2 in sausage, that's the only carbs I've had. Not doing any veggies right now, just total protein and fat, just the way I like to start. If I had lots more weight to lose it would come off faster but really around 30 pounds would be good and it' s going to take some time and I have to be patient. |

| Hey yall. I sure know about the SCALE. Don't weigh daily or its insane fluctuations will make you crazy. For me, I am also leery because as an anorexic and later bulimic teen I was on the scale every five minutes and I let it rule my life. One of the reasons i ended up so fat was one day I said "That's it! I've had it, I would rather be fat than live this way any longer." It didn't happen all at once, but by adding 10 pounds a year teaching, i surely got there. Too bad I didn't trade my sick eating habits for healthy ones back then. I've been on a strictly carnivore diet this week myself, Cindi, till the weekend and i actually feel better that way, however yesterday I was so tired I ate a bowl of cereal for dinner, bran buds, and i thought I would add something to "beef " up the protien, Flax seeds (which i hate, they look like little bugs to me and taste worse), sunflower seeds, and a few walnuts and half an apple cut up. It was moderately gross, to say the least. Then I had gas and upset stomach and bloat all night because I think I upped my fiber by about 5 x. lol. Next week I think I am just going to be a paleolithic girl for a while... My ancesters certainly did ok on for a long time till they ended up on the rez and started eating sugar, white flour, and junk food. LOL. I may break my own rule and weigh today to see just how much damage I did with my cereal. I had lost 9 lbs between Mon-Sat, but I bet it's up again. I did it again today too, Sigh . We eat brunch with my inlaws at the senior apartments where they live, and sometimes they have pretty HIGH carb choices. I ate cauliflower, 4 watermelon cubes, a slice of sausage, and 1/4 of a baked sweet potato, which seemed so sweet after weeks of induction that i nearly gagged. i KNOW sweet potato is not a locarb veggie, but I do love them and they have great vitamins. Maybe the fiber in the peel, which i ate too, will help. lol. Take care yall, I gotta go drink my water. My inlaws keep their house at about 98 degrees and I'm about to expire from thirst.

| Hey sweetie, tomorrow is another day! No worries, no regrets cuz it won't get you anywhere, right? I am with you with the idea that in the olden days not just tribes but so many cultures and so far back, people hunted their food and it was all natural. They were lean and muscular and when the white man tried to civilize them they forced religion, booze, crappy food, etc. on them. I love the pure Indian culture and think their way of worship made more sense than what was forced on them. The Native Americans worshiped the earth, harvest and wildlife and things that made sense. The white man (and I am in that catagory) stole their land and identity and the culture is dissapearing. Oh it pisses me off so much just thinking about it. Around here the reservations are in baron desert, like the worst choice on a chunk of land that was originally theirs! ![]() ![]() Sorry about that, got a bit wound up there! Anyway, I DO have a "Rez Dog" t-shirt and proud of it!So dude, 9 pounds is awesome! You deserve a little celebration. Don't weigh yourself again for a week, okay? If you have a slight gain it may bum you out and set off a binge! I can't lose you on here, you are my partner in crime, or should I say punishment? Anyway don't beat yourself up, let's be great tomorrow okay? My bummer news is tomorrow makes 2 weeks on induction and my husband started last saturday so 1 week for him and 2 for me...we weighed in today, I lost only 2 1/2 lbs. in TWO WEEKS and in just one week he lost SEVEN! Maybe I already *****ed about that, sorry if I did, I shouldn't complain it could be worse so anything down is better than up! So drink your water, and tomorrow right back on the straight and narrow! No sweet potatoes! lol! -I love them too, and miss my Fiber One cereal but oh well, can't give up. Well I bet all that fiber made you regular! Maybe THAT'S my problem?Okay here he comes...the water dance guy!! |

| Well actually today makes two weeks for me on induction. I have been a little constipated which is normal. yesterday I ate about 4 really spicy pork sticks, like a slim jim but homemade from "The Pork Shop" an all pork butcher shop a few towns over. It is even too spicy for Mike so I have to eat it all and it's good, but super spicy. Last night as I was snacking on it he said "if that doesn't make you go, nothing will!' It hit me this morning as I was mall walking! Yowza! Talk about a burning butt! Moral of the story: "Eat it as hot as you want but don't cry on the toliet!"' Anyway since I haven't eaten yet I thought I would officially weigh in today after 14 days and down another pound so it's not good but it's something. so 3 1/2 pounds in 2 weeks. I wish it was more but I have to just stick with it. Have a super Monday my friendS! Drink your water and stay on track! |
