| weight fluctuation between days (or even in the same day) is quite normal - a large flux will often mean you're retaining water. make sure you get plenty of water in over the next few days (as this helps with retaining water), and stay off the scale for a few days. if your measure of success or failure is going to be 100% focused on the daily readout of the scale and every day it doesn't go down is a failure leading to "one of the most discouraging mornings you've ever had," you're going to have a very rough ride, i'm afraid. honestly, i'd suggest getting the atkins book if you don't have it since you said that's your plan of choice, read it, and follow it. if you find scale fluxes upsetting, limit your weigh ins to weekly. good luck.
