Oh wow I need encouragment!

"Low Carb Newbies" at Low Carb Diet Support: "I have been on induction for 20 days. the first 7 days I lost 5 lbs and NOTHING since then. No Im not cheating, Ive done this before and lost 75 lbs but gained back ...."

Default Oh wow I need encouragment!

I have been on induction for 20 days. the first 7 days I lost 5 lbs and NOTHING since then. No Im not cheating, Ive done this before and lost 75 lbs but gained back 35 after my son was born. I am exercising 5 days a week. I am so frustrated and Not losing inches either. Im doing well with no cravings and am in ketosis I check everyday. Please any suggestions?

Sorry to hear that you're feeling frustrated, Sandy. It's now fun when the scale doesn't show your work!

Have you been taking measurements and checking your clothing? Odd as it seems, sometimes inches and pounds come off at different times, it seems. If you're feeling good and have lots of energy, a slow-to-catch-up scale readout doesn't necessarily mean you're doing anything "wrong."

yes breakfast is usually scrambled eggs w/sausage OR bacon.
lunch is usually a meat grilled chicken, burger, pork chop OR tuna fish
Dinner is usally a meat and I have 2 cups of veg like Zuccini, salad, squash or green beans
snack is usually a celery stalk or a couple cucumbers

Dont know whats wrong. I dont vary from this a lot while on induction. hmm

I know this sounds odd, but maybe you're not getting *enough* calories? If you
don't get enough calories, your body worries that you're going to starve and then
your metabolism is going to hang on to everything it possibly can instead of
burning it up and off.

Try upping your protein and / or fat intake a bit to see if that doesn't help you get
over the hump.

I'm not saying go crazy with the extra calories, but try increasing them some and
see what happens.

Just a thought...

Looks like a good menu to me, Sandy. As someone who seems to be in a lengthy holding pattern (grrrrr!) I share your frustration. For now, I've decided to "count my blessings"--that is, all the other benefits of LC besides weight loss.

As for tweaks, it looks like you might not be getting your full share of healthy fats. Butter on those veggies? Mayo? Salad dressings? Cream in your decaf? Some people worry about calories, but I say go for the high-energy and high-yummy-factor.
