Ok well here's the thing. Today was day 1 for me and i am very worried about doing atkins wrong. Well I want to see if this was ok...Today i had a ham and cheese omlet and bacon for breakfast, i had a bit of salad (had carrot slices in it and i know they have carbs) it also had roastbeef, ham and turkey roll ups on it and i got a no carb dressing from the cafe which was actually yummy. I had a snack of crunchy pizza flavored cheese snacks which the cafe also sells it has 1g of carbs per serving. It was so filling i couldn't even eat a whole serving. I have had tons of water and for dinner i had a grilled chicken breast on the foreman grill. So what do you think? Did I do it right?

I would cut back on some of the processed meats, and stick to real foods - processed meats have a lot of additives, nitrates, and sodium.. Also, try to get some green veggies in there in addition to your salads (broccoli, asparagus, spinach, etc).. I'm not sure what a crunchy pizza flavored cheese snack is, but if it's not on the induction foods list, I wouldn't be eating it.. Good luck!

Forgot to add that I had a cheeseburger with no bun in between lunch and dinner too... The cheese snack is a product called just the cheese. It is for low/no carb dieters. It has 1 gram of carbs per serving. I'll work on the yucky greens. Gotta add some in...and less sandwich meats. i went shopping today and bought some fresh meat, steaks, chicken, pork chops and tomorrow i do the veggie thing Thanks for the help shrinky dink!

Sounds pretty good, Kim! :-) Shrinky's right about adding a serving of green veggies. Induction can be constipating, so take advantage of all the veggies allowed. The bacon and ham (and likely the cheese snacks) is that they tend to be high in sodium, so even with your good water intake, you're likely to retain some water with a high salt intake. This can "disguise" weight loss, but as long as you don't have a lot of salt every day, it will whoosh away eventually. Some people have issues with the nitrates used in bacon, ham, etc. but I don't like grey meat, so I tend only to think about the salt issue. All in all, it sounds as if you're doing fine with a little tweaking. Maggie Redhead until further notice! ( ...just sos ya know it's really me.)

Hi Kim! Welcome to LCE. The most important thing right now is for you to learn the foods you should eat and the ones that you shouldn't. Print out a couple of copies of the list of acceptable foods for induction and put one on the fridge and keep on in your purse. Any time you're not sure about what you can eat, check the list. If it's not on the list, don't eat it. Here's a link to the list: Acceptable Foods For Induction HTH Always eat your veggies first!
