Hello All, I think I want to try this. I've had a gastric bypass but still struggle with the weight. I need something more to get the rest of the weight off. I would like to try Atkins but In the past I've leaned heavily toward a vegetarian diet. Can I do this without eating all the meat? I eat a LOT of carbs...even on my salads, I add lots of croutone, immitation bacon bits, anything crunchy (nuts & seeds). I need some help. I want that energy you speak of.

Thanks

If you're going to go low carb, you will have to forgo the croutons for sure, but the good news is that you don't have to eat a TON of protein. I have found that for me to lose weight, I can't eat any more than about 100 grams of protein, which equals 3 eggs, some cream in my coffee, a little cheese, and 2 5-ounce servings of meat.

You may want to look at the Zone - it is perhaps the most protein-light of the low carb plans.

Hope this helps!

I have found that by cutting out the carbs (and, thus, sugar) I have plenty of energy. The carbs and sugar are what makes me sluggish.
