Hi everyone! This is my second day of induction and I am determined to make this WOL work for me. My husband and daughter still eat carbs and my cupboards are full of pasta...the temptation is driving me crazy! When I am preparing their dinner I literally keep telling myself to be strong and that it's not worth one bite! I am so glad I found a place where we can support and encourage eachother. I'm excited to change.

Hi misslu
I'm new to this site and I know what you mean. I still have to cook that stuff for my son and it's so hard.Keep up the good work. It's my second day as well and I have to keep on pushing myself. We can do this!! And I'm sure it's going to be worth it.As you can see from my name, I'm not new to the diet thing

Hi notgivenup-
I am so glad that I have mey someone in the same boat as myself. I feel like it would be so much easier if my cupboards were carb-free, but that's not going to happen. Stay strong girl! We can do this together!!

I've never told my hubby before when I was trying a new eating plan. This time I did. He said, "I can't imagine any diet that doesn't let you eat fruit, but does let you eat Pork Rinds as a diet that's good for you." That's it. There was no well wishing, no words of support...oh well, it will make me that much happier when I get this weight off anyway!

I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength!

I don't have much support at home either chubmom. My husband is just waiting for me to fall off the wagon so I can go get a Frosty with him every night. You have all of us to support you though chubmom! Don't give up...I'm not going to give up either!

Miss Lu;

My wife is 6-1/2 months pregnant, and can't do LC diets, so I'm on my own, but she is very emotionally supportive. But, for you, my best suggestion would be to find a treat you can enjoy, that they can't have (see my post in the ongoing diet forum about chocolate!) and lord it over them. *grin*. It may help you hang on. My wife eats anything she wants - within reason (2,000 calorie restricted balanced diet), and watching her eat carb stuff is hard, but then I just cook up some bacon and say neener neener!

Be strong...

Cheers!

Hi misslu. I am also in the same boat. Mand m's cookies, chips, sodas, etc. are still in my grasp. I still have to keep those goodies around for my husband and kids. This is also a test of my will power and so far, I have not cracked. Hang in there girl.

I too have cupboards, pantry and freezer full of carb stuff. But after being on this plan for two months....they just don't tempt me as much. I think it's just feeling so much better. I have lost 18 lbs and am feeling like "I am in control" not the food! I love being in control!

I went to the state fair last week and did have a malt, but you know what " I didn't have to have it, I just wanted it" I didn't over indulge and yes I did gain 2 lbs back, but with going back on the plan the next day. I have lost it and more.

BE IN CONTROL! DON'T LET THE FOOD HAVE CONTROL!YOU GO GIRL!

Hi, I am right along with you all, I still have to keep the high carb stuff around the house for hubby and kids. At meals with them If I cook them a carb loaded dish, I will also prepare a extra lc dish for myself so that I feel like I have the same amount of items to choose from. And sugar free jello helps for desserts. My favorite dessert is diet root beer with a tbs of heavy cream in it over ice,
it tastes just like a root beer float.
It just seems more helpful if I have a substitute item to have when they are having theirs then I don't feel left out or deprived.

Great advice. I need to brush up on my lc cooking. i am craving all sorts of sweets. Thanks for the support Phil...I had gestational diabetes so I was eating lc when i was pregnant. Is this your first child? Good luck! Dawn-I made some sugar free jello with diet sunkist and it calmed my sweet tooth a little. thanks for the tips.
