Anyone doing anything interesting for Labor Day? (For the non-Americans among us, it's our late-summer bank holiday - usually the "last hurrah" before school starts).

I personally have no plans...I have a sinus infection and will be spending the weekend on antibiotics, reading, sleeping, watching movies, sleeping, sleeping....you get the picture!

At least I have three days...so I don't have to take time off from work to recover!

What's your plan for the holiday?

Emelia

Sounds like you and I could keep each other company in sickbay. I'm battling a migraine, so I'm here in my dark, cold room... trying to stay in touch with the world at least a little bit here for a minute. *sigh*

Feel better, Em!

Oh you poor baby!

Sickbay...think Dr. Crusher can wave that tricorder thing over us and get us back to health?

<sigh> I didn't think so.

I hope you both feel better soon! I have battled both sinus infections and migraines, so I can sympathize!

The only plans I have for the weekend are trying to convince my daughter that kindergarten isn't a bad place to be and that she actually wants to go back on Tuesday! LOL!

Thanks, Butterfly. Good luck with the convincing. Oh, I know that pain! LOL

Back to bed for me. LOL @ Em on the sickbay idea. Maybe there's a way...

Sorry you guys aren't feeling well.

We're supposed to be (finally) putting a deck on the house so we don't have that interesting 8 foot step out the patio door anymore.

Hubby and I both have that sinus thing uggg...

I was sitting here today aching and drinking dayquil.. my head hurt, my face hurt, you know the old flu-like sinus thing..

Well hubby phones from work with a happy tone in his voice, "hey do you want to get out of the house for the weekend?"

"uhh...*sniff*.." I am wary of saying "yea sure" right off the bat.

He then continues, "aunt may phoned and wants me to come down the weekend, so I figured it would be nice for us to get out of the house"

OK.. the thoughts in my mind immediately started groaning:
I don't know these people, I've seen them about 20 minutes before.
I have absolutely no clothes to wear except a paint stained pair of jeans, a pair of jogging pants, and a few t-shirts. (seriously)
I'm sick.
I'm fat.
I'm eating a specific way.
The brief time they visited when passing through last summer, they all sat around talking about other distant relatives that were fat... 'remember Joan and how big she got?' 'my granny was a big woman' 'mary sure gained weight when she married fred, have you seen how fat she is?'

ARRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

So.. Hearing the anticipation in his voice, and the disapointment when I replied, 'well honey you can go on down'.. I finally got a burst of courage and said "I'd be happy to."

Lord help me, the things I do for him.

Anyway, I figured.. I'm trying to change and grow, this is just another step forward, and besides, they're my family too now )

It must be going around, Emelia, Hope. I've had the sinus/migraine double duo on and off for the last two weeks. Enough already!!!

No specific plans here. DH has been home on vacation all week, so I'm at the "biting my tongue" stage :\ Dad and Marjorie will be heading down to Arkansas Tuesday for a couple of months since Dad's been officially released after his knee replacement And I'm looking forward to MY vacation starting next week ;-))

WakingUp, you're a braver woman than I!!

Brighty, watch that first step! Oh Nooooooo, Mr. Bill.....

Wow, BC, ever since I mentioned having the migraine thingy, I've heard quite a few people I hadn't heard from in a while have had it too (or the sinus thing) for the past few days this week.

What is UP?

Mercury goes retrograde and...

Good to get to know you, Waking. Welcome!

Hope

I am having my family for a "close the pool" cookout tomorrow. I am still trying to come up with the menu. I know it will be hot dogs and hamburgers for sure, but what else?

Sorry to hear so many of you feel bad. I have a headache today too. It is my own fault (. I drank too much whiskey last night (I know all of you who are truly sick are really feeling sorry for me right now). One of these days I am going to learn that I cannot drink now.

Waking, good luck with your in-laws.

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend.

LOL, Susan. One of the "perks" is being a cheap drunk.

Yeah, I'd give anything for this to be a hangover rather than a migraine. Ugh.

I'm thinking of you during your "Close the Pool" party. Still summer here for quite some time, still. So, enjoy the last official weekend, in other areas.

Hope

Oddly enough I have no plans. I have been invited to at least one cookout every single weekend since the beginning of may but everyone I know is out of town or has been invited to cookouts with people I don't know. I'm looking forward to blasting my stereo because both my condo neighbors on either side of me are away.

Hope, I don't know about you, but both rapid changes in barometric pressure and sinus/allergies can trigger my migraines. So this summer, with its quirky weather, has been just too dandy. I've used up what is usually a year's supply of Imitrex in three months.... ok! enough moaning!

Susan, I feel your pain...
Rob, enjoy cranking the stereo--I always do!

I had absolutely NO plans. DH and I went to a movie yesterday and he was off to work early this morning... plus seems the midwest had rain all weekend... right Bren? (well saturday was beautiful) - Sun&Mon were miserable, and i bet just horrible for alergies/migrains (luckily since LC, my alergies don't flair up anymore)

so - as you all can see, since i have absolutely nothing to do today - i finally decided to jump back on the boards after a very busy summer.

PS - Oh Bren.... Enjoy your vacation starting tomorrow... i know how you look forward to them
