I am so pleased with myself. 6 weeks from my initial doctors visit and the results are great. I've dropped 12 pounds (slow compared to some) in a matter of 6 weeks. My blood pressure was 160/90 and it's now 150/90.

Cholestorol levels were high, but he said we'll check them again in say 3 months, but overall, he was pleased with my results. My LDL was 192.6 and HDL was 86. Total cholestorol was 296.

Glucose levels were normal (84), kidney function was normal.

It's funny though, as good as I feel about the results, I didn't need them to let me know this WOE is working for me. My energy levels, my clothes and my general disposition do that for me.

This great feeling perks up my week too, more reason to celebrate (carb conscious ofcourse), as Sunday is my birthday.

I look forward to the next 3 months actually, there'll be less of me to go around. (lol)

Congrats!

It's rather typical for cholesterol levels to go up in the first 2 months; after 6 months, they are significantly lower.

Happy birthday, too, a few days in advance!

patdav...how wonderful!! You are doing great. And don't worry how fast it comes off...everyone is different! Plus, you are already reaping many of the health benefits of this WOL!! Just as Emelia said, don't worry about the lipid panel...they will start to improve over the next several months. In fact, keep an eye out for your triglyceride level dropping like crazy!! They are finding that triglyceride levels are much more of an indicator for heart disease risk than cholesterol levels, and this WOL is known for really lowering them!!

Happy Birthday to you!!

Patdav, slow and steady, not a thing wrong with that at all. It's a great way to lose weight. As Emelia said, a look at your labs in about 6 months will be a more accurate reflection of the impact LC is having on your health.

Best wishes, stop by the forum often.

Happy Birthday to you!
