while on induction I know I shouldn't have more than 20 carbs per day. But is the goal to keep it as close to 20 as possible, or as low as possible? I don't have a problem keeping it at around 20....I would have a problem if it has to be as low as possible. I have been going on the line of thought to keep it as close to 20 as possible. Just thought I'd ask.
Thanks all...
Nat

Keep it as close to 20 as possible - with legal veggies!

Once you're through Induction, you can start increasing your carb count with more legal veggies!

YAY!

The reason you want to stay under 20 is to induce ketosis, which is what burns the fat stored in your body. IMO being much under 20 makes it almost impossible to put enough healthy stuff in your body, so 20 or less is perfect. Keep track of what you are eating @ a site like fitday, once you add the salad look @ how many vitamins and minerals go over the RDA.

I think another reason for the magic number of 20 is so you can detox from sugars. I mean, if you ate a donut for breakfast, you'd go over your allotment right there, eh?

The whole purpose for Induction is to detox and to condition yourself for the next phase, I believe.

Stick as close to 20 as you can and eat your veggies. Lots of 'em.
