I have a couple of questions. First, however I have to say Thanks for having a forum open for us newbies. I just started Atkins on 08/11/03 and at the end of my induction I had lost 9 lbs. I was fine with that and will keep going. It's very easy so far.
Now to my ? I noticed at the bottom of postings by others that there are numbers between / / and was wondering what this stands for. As well as, when it shows when someone began is that something they have added to their posting or does it happen auto?

Thanks again so much... I think this site will be the perfect support for me.
Have a Great Day! Buffie

Hi, I am also new here and very excited for the support. I believe the // stands as follows...
first #=beginning weight/2nd #-current weight/last # goal weight. (233/233/150)

I could be wrong but thats what I think.
My start date is 8/28/03.

Right you are, Dawn!

That's the usual format. For us folks who have been on maintenance, you may see some variation.

My usual signature (I didn't bother to put it all in on this temporary forum) is, in part:

Atkins 98 (160)
Maint. (110)

Or something like that. It means that I started the Atkins Nutritional Program in 1998 at 160 lbs and am still maintaining at 110 lbs.

HTH!

Maggie

I want to get started ASAP, but do I need to get the Atkins book and read it throughly. Is it something on this site that can give me information about the induction phase and its requirements. What about the ketone sticks.

Help!

Hi-
I'm still new to this also. But, I do know that there is an Atkins web site that has a lot if not all the info. to at least get you started. I would check that out first.

And good luck, keep coming back to this site in the last week it has been a life saver for me

Have a Great Day!!-Buffie

Hi,

I also got started by going to the Atkins web site...There was most of the information I needed to get started..I find these forums really help alot though...As far the Ketone sticks, I use the Ketostix by Bayer...

Good Luck!!

Tina
