Sorry all but I am a huge Mirical whip fan! LOL So I only use it maybe once a month in my salads. I can not stand mayonase because I got sick on it. Some one mentioned to me that adding sugar to it to make it tast more like mirical whip. Any one tried this?

AAACCCCK!! No, not sugar, but a sweetener like Splenda or Sweet n Low would be fine. Personally I'm a Best Foods gal, tried and true, and SO happy to be back eating THE REAL THING!

Tuna salad - is it SUPPOSED to get out of the mixing bowl somehow, besides with a fork directly to my mouth?! LOL! That's what I had for lunch today. YUM.

lol.. i didn't relize i wrote sugar instead of artificial sugar. In my house we all use artificial sugar so I just call it sugar here. LOL I haven't used "real" sugar in anything since before I began this WOE.

I eat tuna salads for breakfast frequently. (Like... today...)

This is probably my worst carb sin, though. I can't stand tuna without some sweet pickle relish. Dill relish just doesn't do it for me. There are no low-carb sweet relishes that I can find anywhere. So I have been using it in moderation, about one teaspoon per salad, which works out to a whopping 5 grams. Lotsa sugar. I'm sooooo bad...

Recently, though, I started substituting apple for the sweet relish. It's GREAT. chop up about a quarter apple into small bits and mix it into your tuna. It's better than sweet relish and has a lower glycemic index. It also adds a nice texture to it.

Does anyone dislike the "fishy" flavor of tuna? I have tried putting some lemon juice on it to tone it down. Any other suggestions?

There are times when I think I'd like some tuna, then I think about how fishy it tastes even after adding onion & celery, so I haven't eaten it in 6 months or more!

    Thanks
    Karen

Yeah, use Geisha brand tuna. It's the least fishy tasting of all the tunas at my supermarket.

Yes, Karen I hate the fishy taste of some tunas. I dislike fish in general but this is one I can tolerate once in a while. This might sound crazy but when I open the can to drain the water, I rinse it out more and keep draining until I feel the fishy-ness is almost gone. It kinda helps but I will defintely look for Geisha brand that Doctor Insomnia recommended.
