| Hey guys...first off I love all the postings...I've had weak moments and y'all have saved my behind! I would like to give an example of what I eat during the day and have the oldies (I mean that with love) I work 2nd shift at a stressful unit at our towns hospital and this is a usual work day menu. Breakfast: 1 pouch of salmon mixed with real mayo and rolled in 3-4 romaine lettuce leafs. Lunch/Dinner: two hamburger patties with american cheese topped with mayo (real) lettuce, tomato and onion and two sides of veggies. Usually grilled veggies or green beans. Snack(late night) Usually some source of protein...chicken wings (10-15) not breaded, baked not fried. Grilled meat of some sort. That's it. Is this ok or am I eating too much or too much fat? Please let me know. Thanks! I just want to make sure I'm doing this right. I feel good! Just guilty! ![]() SMullins |

| Forgot to mention that I am drinking all the water...one gallon a day...I have to have some caffine...33 ounces unsweetened tea(I don't count it for water though) and nothing sweet...I'm still one week in...and still inducting. I can't however eat another pig scab...otherwise known as pork rinds! SMullins |

| Hi Sarah, and welcome to LCE. This forum is a wonderful place for encouragement and support. You menu looks fine to me! After induction, you can begin slowly upping your carbs by adding veggies. Regarding caffine, I have always drank my coffee and tea since I began this WOE almost two years ago. Continue drinking your water, it really makes a difference with this WOE. Best wishes Sarah, and make sure to stop by the forum each day. ![]() |

|
quote:
I can't however eat another pig scab...otherwise known as pork rinds!

I don't think I can now either! ![]() Your menu looks fine to me too. The american cheese might be a problem, depending on the ingredients. It's considered more a semi-soft cheese rather than a hard cheese. The only other thing I would suggest is trying to have snacks throughout the day (not just late night). If your schedule is anything like other hospital people I know, your meals can often get delayed or catch as catch can. Getting too hungry can really trip you up and you can get too hungry really fast when you're in ketosis. Always eat your veggies first! |

| Watch the tomato and onion, too. While they are allowed in Induction, they are fairly high in carbs. Make sure you consume these at a minimum. Good luck!
