i've been doing okay with the low carbs until i completely lose it with a full on carb blow out!! help me here... okay. truth be known, i have been quasi playing with an induction that has lasted me at least 3 weeks and is technically not an induction. every day i've been eating low carb but not low carb enough to follow the induction period. it has fluctuated between 60 to 160 carbs a day. i have noticed a small weightloss but i know it is not the sincere atkins plan and i'm at my wits end trying to have the proper start to finish 14 days. anyone have ANY encouragement left or do i need to really clock in on some lowcarbeating.com forum reading? i'll appreciate all words of insight. kind regards, dranzie.

| Anything worth doing is worth doing right. Okay...I'll quit sounding like my mother now. You have the tools and the knowledge (the book and these boards)...now the Nike people will forgive me if I quote them... Just do it. | Dranzie, you've been given some great advice. Also please bear in mind that as you haven't really got into a proper Induction, you won't have cured carb cravings. Once you go cold turkey on the sweet treats, you will have a few days when you feel rotten (possibly), but then it does get easier. Don't be afraid to give it a go. As it happens, If you decide to go for the fat burn with 'real' Atkins, I don't think you've done any harm at all starting out the way you have - I find when I begin a diet (I hope i've begun my last) that I need a couple of days to 'wind down' and go into it gently rather than very abruptly. It does get easier. And, if you do it (and I think you know deep down that it is the right thing), think how you will look and feel by Christmas! Good luck! Clare |

It takes 21 days to form a habit. Keep trying and don't give up. As I said in earlier posts, the beauty of life is there is always a tomorrow, which will start with new beginnings! Hang tough. Kellie, F38 Started Atkins 8/1/03 (off and on for the last few years but sticking to it this time!) 206/194/160 -- 9.5 inches GONE! (as of 9/3)

Rach is right. Dranzie, you have to make a commitment and put some effort into it to get started. Not bingeing is rule # 1. Go out tonight and really pig out; get it out of your system if you need to. Whatever it is you think you're going to miss once you start the diet, go eat enough of it that you won't miss it anymore. Then start the diet again, doing it right. Another thing to do -- splurge on good food during induction. That makes things easier. Don't try to eat like a monk. There are lots of really great things you can eat. Look forward to it.

Maybe you might want to try a different low carb plan or just do the ongoing weight loss plan. You said you have lost so that is GOOD, it does'nt have to happen overnight. Do what is confortable to YOU. Jackie
