Please would someone please explain to me in plain english how to calculate NET CARBS. Are we to count carbs using this method or use what the book and package uses. Please help. Am I missing out on more food

Net carbs basically refers to the carbs that will "impact" your system when consumed. Carbs such as fiber DO NOT impact your insulin levels and simply "pass through" untouched and unused by the body so they don't "count" towards your daily total.

So, if an item has 10 carbs and 6 of these are fiber then you would have an item with only 4 net carbs.

10 total carbs - 6 fiber carbs = 4 "net carbs"

Yes, you would deduct the fiber even on induction.

Simple equation...

Subtract the dietary fiber grams number from the carbohydrate grams number on the nutrition label on the foodstuff...

Voila...you have net carbs.
