| Hi, I've just finished my third week of induction. I knew about mid-week that I wasn't feeling like I was losing anything. Then the weekend came and parties have come and gone. I'm supposed to weigh-in today on eDiets. I have to report a 3 lb gain. I'm unsure if I should remain on induction for another week or move on to OWL. I've read else where in the posts that after two weeks one should move on to OWL. Just wondering what your input would be. BTW: Cake was my downfall. |

| Hi Escondite, If you consumed carbs in a large amount, and cake can certainly be a large amount of carbs, personally, I would do some "damage control" and eat induction style for another 3-5 days, at the least. The purpose of induction is to help rid your body of the cravings and get you more metabolically balanced. If you would post a few days typical menus of what you are consuming, how much weight you are wanting to lose, age, height, any meds you are on, exercise and water intake, perhaps we might be able to see if there is anything we can help with. This is a great place for support and everyone is always willing to help. Please post often and let us know how it's going. Good luck and glad you stopped in HTH Shelley sg *********** "if it ain't broke don't fix it" |

| Well, if it ws more than one slice of cake, I'd personally do one more week of Induction, not cheat next weekend, and then move on to OWL. You really need to move on, but you have got to detox after your little cake episode if it were more than one piece. If it wasn't, just start OWL - adding in more legal veggies to raise your CCL. | I have to say, just move on. You will get more of a variety of food which may make you less likely to have an unplanned dietary deviation (I hate the term cheat) next time you are presented with cake. BTW I was on induction for about 3 1/2 weeks and I wish I would have moved on at 2. | I agree with everyone else. It is time to move on...I had to pretty much force myself too...lol, but I am still doing really well. Actually BETTER now. 222/215/150 Started Atkins 8/19/2003 |

| I've decided to stay on induction one more week. I feel so fat. It's probably just a state of mind. But I have to say that I was lactose intolerant before starting this new way of eating. I would always have to take a lactose pill before eating a slice of cheese, drinking milk, etc. The first time I ate a piece of cheese I decided not to take a pill and wellah! no reaction whatsoever. For that I am grateful. We'll see what this week brings. I follow the program outlined for me from eDiets. Thanks for all your input and have a great day! |
