For some people (like me) caffeine will cause a stall. I went completely caffeine free after my first week (and not losing a pound). I was a Diet Coke only drinker for YEARS and switched to Diet Rite, which is caffeine free, and sweetened with Splenda (totally Atkins approved) and ended up losing about 15 pounds during my 2nd week. NutraSweet (which is in Diet Coke) will also cause some people to stall, where others seem unaffected. If you don't like diet rite, you can go to the splenda web site http://www.splenda.com and there is a list of ALL products sweetened with splenda and you might be surprised. For instance, the pre-made Crystal Lite (not the powder), Clover Valley Diet sodas from the dollar store, Big K (from Kroger) Diet Crush (any flavor) are all sweetened with Splenda.

So if the ocean spray cranberry juice is sweetened with Splenda, is it allowed in induction?

the ocean spray light is splenda sweetened, but its still juice. you'd need to look at the carb count for it. juices are generally out because whether they have sugar added or not, they do have naturally occuring fruit sugar (fructose) that makes them sweet and provides carbs.

cranberries themselves are rather low carb tho, so its possible the pure cranberry juice is pretty lc. the raspberry/cranberry is probably higher, and the grape/cranberry even higher.

check out the label and see what it says =) i'll have to do the same, i love cranberry juice!

Last time I went to the recycler, I had nine barrels of empty caffeine-free diet coke cans. It hasn't hurt my weight loss at all.

I'm waiting to see before I cut out my caffiene. I LIVE on it. I've gone from 3 or 4 20 oz Mt Dews a day to 1 or 2 Dt. Vanilla Cokes.

The whole caffeine thing can really rile people up. I guess I believe it is truly a YMMV kind of thing. I drink one 12oz cup of real coffee per day and occassionally (1-2x per week) I have a diet soda. It does not seem to stall me whatsoever. I would not like life if I could not have my coffee each morning. LOL
The reason I gave up the 2-3 diet sodas I was drinking a day was because we have to drink all this gosh darn water and I could not get the water down if I was full of soda. LOL.
