Diet Rite is made with Splenda...and I know that some supermarket "generic" brands are made with Splenda as well (Food Lion in the South has an awesome cream soda). Emelia "We can only learn to love by loving." - Iris Murdoch, Irish writer 294/208/174 since 25-Nov-01

Diet Hanson's is also made with Splenda, as are some others. You can check out which ones by going to www.splenda.com - somewhere on there they have a listing of products that use Splenda. I took it one step further - I buy seltzer water, the store brand (Safeway here), which is 0 calories, 0 carbs, 0 sodium - and mix it with my choice of DaVinci sugarfree syrups. They are Splenda sweetened and come in about 40 different flavors. (I think I have 36 of them!) You can look at their website at www.davincigourmet.com - they also have recipes on there. The shipping is pretty reasonable, given the weight of the bottles - I think it runs $7.95 when I buy 12 at a time (which I often do) - and they are extremely well packed. Just a thought, if you'd like to make "custom" flavors! Char Don't squat with yer spurs on!

Hi everyone, while you are talking about sweetener...i've got 1 question: i've just bought this new diet lemonade (The brand is:Signature Range) and i think its only made in NZ. But when i checked out the label, it only said: Artificial Sweetener (959,950) does anyone know what the numbers mean? is it corresponding to some name of artificial sweetener? I just want to know if this diet lemonade is made with either Splenda or aspartame or other sugar like stuff. If anyone of you know what the number means, please let me know Cheers!

Thanks for the tips on finding other Splenda drinks! I can't wait to try the Food Lion creme soda. Charski, were you the person who posted a recipe for italian ice? I tried a modified version this weekend with some Diet Rite (strawberry kiwi) and 1 or 2 T whipping cream. That was a great treat, thanks! I'm sorry Natalia, I don't know what kind of sweetener they could mean :/ xoxo 180/152/130

I found out what one of those code means: 950 - stands for Acesulfame potassium 959 - still unknown. I asked the question to one of the health shops around here as i thought it was the code for Aspartame but unfortunately the code for Aspartame is 951. Does anyone know the code for Splenda or Stevia? oh btw, I found a health shop in NZ that stock Stevia but not splenda. Is Stevia as good as Spenda? I asked around for Splenda but unfortunately Splenda is not yet known here in NZ and considered as new product for Artificial Sweetener (some of us are not as lucky here regarding getting hold of low carb products Anyone knows how good is Stevia comparing to Splenda?

Here's some fun news. Diet Pepsi Slurpees will soon be in 7-11 stores. They redesigned the formula so that it does not include aspartame, but "two natural sweeteners, tagatose and erythritol, and a cocktail of artificial sweeteners including sucralose [Splenda]." Two carbs per serving. http://www.nytimes.com/2003/09/09/business/09SLUR.html (this link will probably only be good for a week or so because it's New York Times)
