You don't have very much to lose, so you're going to lose it slower than others..

How long have you been doing this, and what are you eating in a typical day?

Shelley,
Sometimes, weight loss doesn't come easy, as this may be happening to you. The main thing you can do is to take in the proper amount of water, and don't intake carbs as best you can. Some of us, that can lose easy, can intake a fair amount of carbs a day, with our water, and still lose fast and efficiently.

So, my advice to you, and to make sure you're not cheating, period. If you’re eating something breaded, take it off.. At this time, don't even bother with diet cokes.. Just drink water... If you stay loyal, and drink water as much as possible, you will find your self in ketosis, which means you're body is burning the fat..

I wish you luck, as I know it can be hard.. But once you find yourself on that right track, the addictions for sweet things will disappear, and you will notice yourself eating the proper things without even thinking about it..

Good luck!

Alex

Hey Shrinky

Ok, I'll have:-
Breakfast
1 egg, maybe with a slice of cheese OR 2 slices of bacon, herbal tea with splenda
Lunch
95g Tuna, 1 and a half cups of mixed lettuce leaves, two tablespoons Best Foods Mayo 10 olives OR Chicken breast, 1 boiled egg, mayo lettuce
Around 4pm is when the SUGAR hits!
Try not to but have decaf with 2 teaspoons heavy cream one splena....SF Jello with a dash of cream...slice of cheese, slice of chicken
Dinner
Meat/Chicken/Fish with 1-2 cups veggies
After dinner
jello with cream x 2 (sometimes) two coffees with two splendas and heavy cream in each cup!

I'm thinking too much splenda and cream?

Thanks for answering!

Hi Alex
Thanks for answering...
Nope uh hu nothing breaded NO CHEATING! I was in ketosis my strips were always pink (cept that changed after the scotches) My stix were always pink/purple but no weightloss, only 4lbs in the first week then that was it! I have poted above an HONEST days food...I think maybe I have to fight my cravings more.. I gave up smoking fed my craves for nicotine with food and now feel cornered as i have nothing to feed the food craves (know what I mean)?

I intend on finding the answer and getting this right! lol

Hmm.. Your menu actually looks ok.. Looks like you're getting lotsa veggies and protein..

How much water?

I haven't seen coffee really derail anyones weight loss.. Can you try switching out the Splenda packets which have carbs for the flavored Davinci syrups which have no carbs? I don't think you're getting "too much" cream, either..

If your sticks are ANY shade except beige, you're burning fat. Have you taken/charted your measurements? Sometimes, you see results where when you don't see any on the scale..

What about exercise?

You haven't said how long you've been doing this, but a stall after induction is very common - your body is adjusting to its new WOL.

I was going to say what shrinky said.. The only other thing I can think of is to avoid any diets or artificial sweeteners, and just do water at this time.. Also, see what exercising you can do..

Have you taken your measurments? you said you're exercising regularly, so you're probably losing inches by losing fat and gaining muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat, so that's probably why you don't see it on the scale.

Shelley,

You are losing weight! Even if it is only 4lbs. Don't get discouraged because the scale is not dropping fast enough. I bet everyone that even LOOKS at these boards wishes they could be thin overnight. But it is not going to happen. When you lose weight fast your body needs time to adjust. Just like when you put on weight it takes time for the body to adjust.

We all just need to have patience. I know a lot of people try atkins because of the success stories they hear about induction. That is the motivation behind it. But there is more than just one phase to Atkins. I think if you give it time, you will be on the right track again.

Good luck to you! Please, keep us informed on how you are doing.

Have no fear, we are here, to support 1lb at a time...

I would agree with ShrinkyDinks, suggestions, too.

If you can substitute Sugar Free Da Vinci syrup or Sugar Free Torani syrup for the Splenda, you'll save about almost 1 g carb per packet. If you use 10 packets in a day, that's 9 g of carb you can avoid.

Atkins' book recommends using things sweetened with sucralose rather than aspartame. Apparently, some of his clients weight loss stalled with aspartame. Diet Rite Cola is sweetened with sucralose. It's a bit too sweet for me, so I cut it with club soda.

Just so you don't feel all alone, I'm a very slow loser, too. I was pretty happy if I averged 2 pounds a month! That's really slow compared to a lot of LC eaters, but - hey, man! I was just happy to be losing at all instead of gaining!

In my case, the weight doesn't come off little by little. Instead, I'll stay the same for quite a while then get a little whoosh where I lose 1-2 lbs over night.

Also, the closer I got to my goal weight, the more careful I had to be about portion sizes to continue to lose weight.

Hey Shelley, I notice no one mentioned the cream. I personally have trouble with cream. I love it and use it like you do - or - I 'used to'. I found that it is the one thing that slowed me down on Induction. I never had trouble with splenda - but YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary) as they say. Are you measuring those 2 tsp of cream in ever cup of coffee with a regular spoon or an actual tsp measuring spoon? (I say this because I found out that my regular 'tea' spoons were almost a measured tablespoon! Then you have cream on the jello at snack and after dinner.

Have you considered tracking on Fitday? I found that helps me a LOT to see how many carbs I am actually ingesting!

Lastly, as the others have said - you ARE losing weight. I know, I know, I wanted mine to come off faster as well - AND I started this WOE with my husband who only had about 15 pounds (to my almost 40) to lose. He dropped 8 in Induction and I dropped 5 - was I bumming, or what!

Hang in there - we are here for you!

Your menu does look terrific.

Hugs,
Rachel
