Everyone, can you please let me know if mock danish is allowed during induction?

I'm thinking of trying out Susan's recipe (without berries), but i'm only on my 8th day of induction, so can i have it during my induction?? or is it only allowed after induction?

Natalia,
Yes, you can have Mock Danish on induction, but....that will be close to the limit for the day on cheese. Dr Atkins reccommends no more than 3-4 oz cheese aday(total to include, cheddar, cream cheese, gouda, etc).

There are SO many variations on this one!

I've found I prefer it with 3 ounces of cream cheese and 1 egg, then I use a splash of heavy cream, 3 squirts (about 1.5 tablespoons) of DaVinci sugarfree Danish Pastry flavored syrup, and a sprinkle of cinnamon. I cook it on HIGH for 3 minutes (in a 700 watt microwave) and then turn it out onto a plate and put a small pat of butter on top.

This morning I also poured on about a tablespoon of sugarfree pomegranate syrup - boy THAT was tasty!

Sometimes I also mix in a tablespoon of flax seed meal.

I'm gonna try the fried version though, that sounds interesting!

Char, I might suggest cooking it very slow or it will get really very brown on the bottom. I see the reason now for doing it in the microwave. Mine didn't burn, but was very close.

I'm going to try making mock danish tomorrow...

Just one little thing: am i suppose to whip the cream first before mixing it with the rest of the ingredients? or do we just leave the heavy cream as it is without whipping it before mixing it with the rest of the ingredients?

Sorry if this sound stupid...just wanted to make sure i'm doing it right :P

I don't whip the cream although I suppose you could. Works fine without whipping though! Enjoy!!!
