I just made the mock danish this morning for breakfast. REALLY good!!! and filling with 2 sausage patties.

Does anyone have the nutritional values on this? Or how do I add it to my FITDAY? Does it have to broken down per items that are in it?

Thanks

I'm not sure about total nutritional values for the mock danish. There are a couple of different recipes, very similar. It also depends on whether or not you use the spenda packets or something else. I use the Davinci Vanilla syrup sweetened w/splenda and only 1 packet of splenda, so the carb count is lower.

When I put it in fitday, I broke down all the ingredients. That worked just as well to get totals for the day.

Unless I am missing something, the recipe for Mock Danish isn't back on this board. Could you please let me know how you make it?

Thanks

I can't find my recipe for Mock Danish

post the ingredients, and i'll calculate the nutritional values.

i do recall it being pretty high in cals - with all the creamcheese... but carb-wise, it's pretty darned low.

It has 2 eggs, 2 oz. cream cheese, 1 T. cream, 2 packets splenda, 1 tsp, vanilla, dash of salt, and I put just a little bit of cinnamon in it, then fried it in 1 T. butter.

Thanks again.

Hi everyone,

That mock danish sounds good..I see the ingredients but how do you make it?
I am guessing that you mix the items, form a patty? and then fry?

thanks, Dawn

Dawn, I am not sure about frying. I had not heard of that before. I nuke mine.

Here is how I make it:
2 oz. cream cheese
1 packet Splenda
1 egg
cinnamon and vanilla to taste
1 TBSP. half & half (I use my whipping cream)
soften and mix the cream cheese, mix the rest of the ingred and microwave for 1:30 sec.

It is good, especially with berries on top if you are allowed .

Susan,
Thank you so much! I am going to try it on monday. I am still on induction (Day 8) so berries will be coming up!

Another idea for Mock Danish;
I make a triple batch, put in a small casserole dish(appro 5X7 size), cook in microwave as per usual, and after it's cooled well, cut it into 4 equal pieces and wrap individually, and place in ziplock freezer bag and put in freezer.
Bata-bing-bata boom...instant quickie breakfast bars on the run. Remember to divide your total carbs for the recipe by 4...they are still pretty good size bars, IMO.

As the only person on the boards without a microwave (we recently moved and have yet to purchase one), is there a way to prepare the mock danish without a microwave?

Hi Vicky,
I would think you could most likely bake it like a cheesecake, although it takes awhile and might not be worth the effort for one serving...but if you made a triple or quad batch and cut them into squares you could have a couple of days worth. I would think 350 degrees for 45-50 min or until knife inserted in the center comes out clean. I would also spray my pan with cooking oil spray(I use butter flavor).

This question is for Susan

I really want to try your mock danish recipe after my induction. Sound very easy to make and yummy

but what do you mean by:
1 TBSP. half & half (I use my whipping cream)

Do you mean: 1 tablespoon of whipping cream?
and are we allowed to have cinnamon? i thought they are like sugar?

I'm guessing that her recipe calls for Half & Half, but she prefers to use Cream (heavy whipping cream)

yes, you can use plain cinnamon (just not the one that is already mixed with sugar)
