In re: salad dressings - we have discovered Newman's Own Olive Oil and Vinegar dressing. One of the few in a bottle that has no added sugar - and it's really nummy.

Anything but beige is just great. As long as you're in ketosis, nothing else matters. It's the whole point of this way of eating.
The color can depend on a lot of things, especially the amount of water you're drinking. It's best to test yourself at a time of day when you haven't consumed large quantities of water in the past few hours. For instance, yesterday I ran a test in the middle of the day and came out negative. I tested myself this morning after waking up and I was medium purple. So time of day and what you drink has to be factored in.

Wow Shrinky! You have loss 70 pounds since April! That is absolutely fantastic!!! I started cutting back in April (got really serious in June)and have loss 25 pounds.
Nicole, I was testing everyday when I first started, but now I only test occasionally. Mine are always on the trace/small color. My doctor recommended that I stay out of the dark zone.
