I know not to eat the low carb bars with the sugar alcohols and glycerine in them, but what about if you make your own? I was browsing Low Carb Luxury's recipes and came across a few recipes. Thought I'd ask the "oldbies" about this and share the link.

TIA!

These sound delicious. I copied the chocolate ones. The pineapple sounded good, but seemed to complicated for me .

You may want to wait until you are through induction to have these since they contain peanut butter and the protein powder. I have never used protein powder. I do not know if it allowed on induction or not. Of course, if you absolutely have to have something, these sound LOTS better than the bars.

They are MUCH better than any premade, prepackaged bar that you will find and you know exactly whats in them. They are also easy to make!

Thanks.

That's what I figured, but just needed to hear it from some LC veterans. (I've been reading about/researching this WOE ever since I started and had to stop in 2001, but still feel like a newbie! )

I'm going to make some for my DH. His weight (like many men)just seems to fall off of him when he's eating LC.

Better add ingredients to my weekly shopping list!

No idea... perhaps Sharron Long will know the answer to this?

Generally, do not substitute one protein powder for another in recipes, if the recipe is specific. The various types of protein powders have different properties and consistencies. I found this out the hard way testing recipes for Sharron.

You can get some at Walmart in the pharmacy section. It's near all the other "diet" products. You can also get it at GNC and health food stores. Be prepared, though, it's not cheap.
