Firstly, I hope that anyone on this site who is in the Carolina's or near that you stay safe and your homes are spared any damage! I have a friends in North Carolina and Delaware I'm a little worried about but we can only pray

OK now to let you all know I have lost 11lbs

sample menu for any lurkers
B- egg with either shallot/ls soy sauce or a very SMALL amount of bacon
L- 1 1/2 cups of mixed salad greens with tuna 2TB lc dressing (I ADORE tuna lol)
D- 1 1/2 cups of mixed salad greens with chicken/SMALL steak (the size of the palm of my hand) done either like a ceaser salad or spiced up somehow oh and parmesan cheese in the salad and 2TB's of lc salad dressings usually ranch or ceaser I have found Paul Newmans one of the lowest here in OZ
3 LITRES OF WATER OR MORE!!!!!!!!
I'm convinced water is the problem, people you GOTTA drink a dam full lol! it works! And sometimes I have a little more than 1 1/2 cups of salad maybe I'm not supposed to but its working!

I am using my atkins maple to sweeten my marinades I use atkins choc syrup in my coffee and after a little experiment my milk (you guys call it cream, I ditched the heavy cream) 1 cup of my whole milk is 11.2 grams I measured 14 TB's into a cup then divided it 0.8 carb in my milk allowance, the lower fat has helped me ALOT!

Also I read the other day a thread on chinese food...I have a couple of eggs with shallots (I think you call them scallions) with low sodium soy sauce and some stirfried chinese cabbage with maple/soy sauce and garlic thrown over the top (not a lot just enough to give it some taste) and other free vegges...I dont feel like I'm missing out..(Sunday nights was out chinese night you see) try it, it is yummy! Of course its hard to do if you eat out, BUT there's no harm in asking for the omlette to be prepared without all the garb they usually put in it and then get a side dish of stir fried veggies or broccoli, hey I'm gonna do that next time we go out!

Anyways again hope all of you here are safe, sound and losing the lbs!!!!

Blessings
Shelley

Sounds like you've devised a plan that's working for you, Shelley. Congratulations on your loss.

Shelley

Well done!!

Just to add that I also have been enjoying home made 'Chinese'. Stir-fried chicken strips with free veggies, some onion, grated ginger, crushed garlic, and some soy sauce just to give it taste. Bean shoots are incredibly low in carbs and give it crunch. I know it's not exactly spring rolls and sweet and sour, but it does, it's tasty and it's low carb.

Dear Clare and BC

Yes I am very happy with my progress!

You see my weight is due to me quitting smoking. I thought I was wonderful not having too many craves for a smoke, the reason being I was too busy eating everything sight! Anyway, now I must learn how to eat. That may sound strange, but I used to have a cig for a meal!!! (HOW REVOLTING) BUT......I quit on May 2, 2002 and know I will never smoke again. The weight actually did kinda go on overnight lol...I ate my way from 58k (127lb) to 88k(194lb) pretty darn consistant if you ask me! That is 66lbs! I did that from May 2 till July 16, I know cos I had to go and buy a size 16 pants to wear to my uncles funeral (his cancer was the reason I quit). I couldn't sleep when I first quit so guess what I was doing through the nite??? Yep watching tv and MUNCHING big time!
So adopting this new WOL must be forever. It worries me when people ask for a meal plan, we must use our imaginations to create meals on a daily basis, ok use a meal plan to get used to this WOL, but them DIY! sorry I'm starting to ramble
Thank you for your posts and as someone else says here (sorry cant remember your name)

Eat your veggies first and (my input) DRINK A TRUCK LOAD OF WATER!

cheers guys
Shelley

Well, Shelley, it's even more remarkable that you've quite smoking, and now also have a handle on your weight. Congratulations. It takes remarkable courage to take on either one, as many of us know.

Congrats on your loss Shelly! Honestly I was a little worried about you when I saw your post on how LC'ing just didnt work for you. Those darn LC bars and sugar alcohols are just a real killer for most of us. Now you know why we are so down on that stuff. People think its okay to eat that stuff all the time and it isn't. The occasional bar.. well okay.. but everyday? Sure recipe for zero weight loss. I'm really proud of you and I'm glad you are finding whats right for you. After all, thats what LC is all about. We are all a little different and so we do it a little different.

Susan

LC and feeling better every day!
